I don't usually enjoy novellas....I find the character development isn't great and the plot just moves too quickly....but I was QUITE impressed with how believable these little love stories were considering how short they were...besides one that I found so-so, I loved the thread through each book and how four authors managed to marry these books together.

*two thumbs up*

I admit that the biggest draw of this group of novellas was Becky Wade's. I've so much loved her Bradford Sisters series! And this was a wonderful edition to it. Yet the other three stories in this collection certainly held my attention once I got to them. From blunt grandmothers, to "stern" businessmen, and shooting competitions, the side characters and plotlines made me laugh and swoon. Sometimes at the same time! :) I enjoyed how the brooch made its rounds through each of the stories and tied them all together. Super sweet stories that are worth your time, reader friends!

Really enjoyed the first two stories, but the last two didn't really grab me and I skimmed them.

The Christmas Heirloom is a collection of four heartwarming holiday romance novellas following the journey of a brooch that's passed on down through the generations. It featured three authors I was familiar with and one that was new to me. It was such a delight to read and sure got me into the Christmas spirit!

Legacy of Love by Kristi Ann Hunter – Five Stars
Why haven't I read more of Kristi Ann Hunter's books? This was such a great story filled with a lot of laughs, so much heart, and quite a few tears too. It was witty and charming and unputdownable. I read it pretty much in one sitting. I didn't want to leave these characters for one second. The dowager was hands down my favorite. She had quite the feisty personality and in many ways reminded me of my own spunky grandma. This story definitely makes me want to go catch up on the rest of Hunter's books that I haven't read quite yet.

Gift of the Heart by Karen Witemeyer – Four Stars
I've enjoyed many of Witemeyer's books so I was very excited to start Gift of the Heart. It was so good! The characters were great and so genuine. Ruth was such a strong and admirable woman. Naomi, her daughter, was a sweet and adorable little girl. And Bo! Oh my! What an all-around good guy he was! This story sure left me with a big smile on my face!

A Shot at Love by Sarah Loudin Thomas – Four Stars
This was my first time reading anything by this author. It takes place in the late 1950's which I don't think I'd ever read a story set during that time period. I was unsure if I'd enjoy it because of that but I ended up liking it a lot. Fleeta was quite the interesting character, so fierce and determined. She's a tomboy who loves hunting and guns. She's different than the normal leading lady, but that's what made her so great and likeable. It took me a minute to get into this story, but once I did, I couldn't read it fast enough.

Because of You by Becky Wade – Five Stars
I'm not gonna lie, this story was the one I was most looking forward to. I've been loving the Bradford Sisters series and was excited to visit them again. This story is about Maddie Winslow who works at the chocolate shop, Sweet Arts, with her best friend Britt Bradford. It was really nice to get Maddie's story and to learn more about her. Her and Leo were easy to like and root for.

All in all, The Christmas Heirloom was an excellent collection. I really enjoyed all four stories and would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes good, sweet romances.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley and voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and comments are my honest opinion.

I listened to this an audiobook and it was so sweet and full of Christmas hope and love.
❤️
I loved how the stories were connected by the amethyst brooch and the women were related to each other. It starts in England in the early 1800s and through each story, it skips a generation and ends in contemporary time.
❤️
It’s so hard to pick a favorite! Each character and their story was all unique.
❤️
Kristi Ann Hunter’s “Legacy of Love” starts it off where Sarah is a lady’s companion. Through her story of finding love, receiving the brooch and setting off for America.
❤️
Karen Witemeyer “Gift of the Heart” Ruth and her daughter Naomi come out west for a job. Her husband passed away and they needed a fresh start. Only thing is she doesn’t have the funds to pay the first month rent on their cottage. The landlord won’t budge but she offers her brooch as collateral until she can pay it off. The man seemed to cold and unfeeling, not coming to her plight but things change over their acquaintance.
❤️
Sarah Loudin Thomas “A Shot at Love” Fleeta would rather shoot and hunt than learn to be a proper young lady. It start at the annual Thanksgiving Turkey shoot and she has competition of a timber man. Fleeta has the chance to get her own store and uses the brooch as collateral. She doesn’t need it to find love because she doesn’t want to get married.
❤️
Becky Wade “Because of You” Maddie is in love with her best friend’s husband. She always liked him but since that chance meeting where her friend saw him first- her friend passed away in a car accident and it’s been years until seeing each other again. But there’s no way he would be interested in her. He is too busy with work and being a single dad. They help doing Christmas project where they spends a ton of time together. But her mom always tries to throw other single men at her or people mention Leo’s late wife.
❤️
I loved the family history as the stories progressed. It makes me wonder more what my ancestors lives were like.

One timeless heirloom binds generations of daughters, mothers, and grandmothers as they overcome different obstacles and hardships to find enduring love in this beautifully crafted multi-author mini-saga.

This collection delights with creative variety in eras, locations, backgrounds, personalities, romance tropes, and more yet each story is equally moving, engaging, and entertaining. The heirloom was skillfully and seamlessly woven into each heroine’s life story as the tale of the family tradition was retold over the years. I highly recommend this book, it has earned a place on my all-time favorites shelf, and I look forward to rereading it year after year!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher and was under no obligation to post a review. The opinions expressed are my own.
