Had this not been an audiobook, I probably would've rated this lower as the language was a little bit difficult to understand at times. The sound effects and music created an immersive experience as I felt I was there standing by the tunnel staring into darkness. This short story was eerie and chilling at times but not necessarily really scary. Dickens pulls it off!

Delightfully ghoulish. A great short story for Christmas (or spooky season.)

Why did I read this one? Because it's Doctor Who's favorite story of Charles Dickens! :D

Great ghost story and a great time to read it since it's October and also it's dark and raining around here!

A signalman, working in an isolated area near a tunnel, tells his story to a visitor of the apparitions that haunt him. Sinister tale by Charles Dickens, free on Audible and a great performance.
