It beautifully captures the essence of an old-fashioned Christmas, where the true value lay in the thought behind each gesture.

When I think of Truman Capote, I think of "In Cold Blood." I do not think of Christmas memories. So it was with some curiosity that I approached this short story. "A Christmas Memory" is one of the tenderest, most beautifully written, sweetly nostalgic, bittersweet stories I have ever read. I think you'd have to have a heart of stone in order to refrain from getting misty eyed while reading it. I plan to make a habit of reading this every Advent season.

¡Ayyy! Qué hermosa narración. Hogareña, cálida, especial y luminosa. Lo malo es que termina.
