i definitely enjoyed this book, i wanted to know what happened.
i was slightly disappointed by its ending although i’m not sure what i expected from it. it was twisty but had laid the groundwork for those twists to make sense, especially as I correctly guessed one of them.
i probably won’t read the sequel as i don’t care enough about the characters it concerns, especially Henry who was just plain unlikable the whole time, however i did enjoy the unreliable narrative aspect of the book.
overall, a good read with good pacing however I think I’ll need some time to decide if i want to read anymore of Lisa Jewell’s catalogue.

My rating is probably closer to 3.5 mainly because of the ending. I loved the multi-perspective storytelling, and I felt that the complexities in the story were interesting for sure, if sort of predictable. The third section of the book was incredibly interesting and such a page turner but the ending really ruined it for me. Very anticlimactic. I sort of skipped through the 4th part...but overall enjoyable especially compared to other Lisa Jewell books I've read!

Wow. What a rollercoaster!
I've been wanting to read this for a very long time and it was well worth the wait. I love the 3 perspectives and each chapter being from a different perspective. Took me some time to get used to but it works so well. I couldn't put this book down. Just as you think you can see what's happening, it takes another turn.. this book had me guessing right up to the end. Brilliant. Highly recommend.

Just the right amount of over the top, with a few light twists and unnerving moments. Easy to read and kept me guessing until the end. Not an amazing piece of literature, but entertaining nonetheless.

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest, independent review.
"In a large house in London’s fashionable Chelsea, a baby is awake in her cot. Well-fed and cared for, she is happily waiting for someone to pick her up. In the kitchen lie three decomposing corpses. Close to them is a hastily scrawled note. They’ve been dead for several days. Who has been looking after the baby? And where did they go?
"Two entangled families. A house with the darkest of secrets."
Wow, what an addictive read! I could tell from the first chapter I was going to enjoy this book - I was engrossed from the start. I read the book within 48 hours, locking myself away for long periods of time refusing to speak to anyone!
I love the story being told from three points of view and different timelines - at first, I felt a little confused but within a few chapters it all came together and I started trying to work out how everyone was linked. Everything came together so well!
Usually when I read a book, there is usually one character that I find is on the sideline, one that could've been left out, but each of the characters were so well developed, they had a vital role to play in the storyline.
The book had everything you need - relationships, love, mystery, shock, intrigue, twists and turns. What I loved most is that this is a storyline which wasn't way out there - it's so believeable and it could actually happen in the real world!
I think this is THE best psychological thrillers I have read so far this year!

Too much to keep up with. I didn’t like how level by 42%, I have no idea how these stories tie together in the slightest
