This book reminded a great deal of Little Women, that is if the one of the Little Women kept dying over and over again, and the mother takes an overdose of drugs. This is not my favorite book of Kate Atkinson's, I much preferred Transcription.

The summary of the book made it sound interesting and engaging. The book could not hold my interest, was written in an odd way, and had to put the book down in the beginning sections. Sound promising but was the total opposite.

I was liking it but I have too much else on the go that I'm liking more. Maybe I'll come back to it someday.

I loved this. I devoured it in one day, and although I have some questions about structure (not sure I needed the prologue, as waiting for that version was distracting, and I wish it had ended with Sylvie and the scissors), I thought this was smart, thoughtful, thought-provoking stuff. And of course every sentence is just right -- Atkinson's prose never falters. I was very much reminded of A.S. Byatt, especially The Children's Book, but the nonlinear plotting and the meditation on possibility, fate, and time sets it apart from anything else. Literary, truly speculative, and one I would like to reread and dissect more closely.

I really liked the writing style and concept, but think I was confused by the ending. I also don't like
WWII books that revert to the idea of "what if we time travelled and killed Hitler?"

Struggled with this. Don’t really enjoy time loop fiction so probably not the right novel for me. Also, there’s a lot of bodies being blown up and a bit too much Hitler.
