It’s a Sara Cate book, of course I’m going to read it! This one I actually went into with a little hesitation because cheating is one of my least favorite tropes if not my least favorite, but I give everything a chance. This one was nothing like I expected. I mean it technically includes cheating, but I don’t know if I would classify it as that. Whatever you want to call it, it was such an emotional and very spicy journey for these three characters and I enjoyed every minute of it. I loved how as much as the story was about the dynamic of all of our MCs together, each character’s individual journey and development was just as important. It upped the ante for all of the decisions that were made and what the impact of the outcomes would be. Ah I could probably write pages on this book, but I’ll just say this may be my new favorite Sara Cate book.

The Homewrecker is the 2nd book in Sara Cate’s Goode Brothers series and can be read as a stand-alone, although you’ll get a better idea of what’s going on since plotlines that happened in book one continue in this book.

There is cheating in this book, from both partners, in different ways. If I didn’t know ahead of time they were all going to end up together (that’s not a spoiler because HEAs are required in romance), I might have been less accepting of it. I trust Sara Cate, but if cheating, in any form, is a hard no for you, tread lightly.

Briar and Caleb have lost their spark. Being from very religious families, the sex has become more about procreation than enjoyment. Dean is a sex worker who loves helping people explore their sexuality. In a turn of events, he ends up living above their garage. The close proximity leads to temptation, which is given into, but he not only helps them rekindle their flame, he also helps them with their communication.

Not only do I feel this is her sexiest book yet, it was also the most emotional one. The family dynamics and what Briar is dealing with had me in my feels. There was some humor in it. Some of my favorite scenes involve Abby, the 6-year-old daughter of Briar and Caleb. Dean isn’t a fan of kids, but some of the sweetest scenes in the book are between them.

Overall, I’m really enjoying this series. I am continuously amazed at what Sara Cate has gotten me to read and will continue to recommend her series to anyone wanting to branch out of their comfort zone a bit. Sara handles every subject with care, and I will continue to trust her.

The next two books in the series were hinted at in this one. I loved seeing the developments with those and I can’t wait to see what exactly Sara has in store for Luke and Isaac.

Thank you to Sara for the ARC. I voluntarily read an early copy of this book.
