This story begins with an intense scene. Baylor, daughter of a famous actor has been kidnapped and is being held captive.
Very quickly she’s saved, but the threat is still very much an issue and a serious threat.
Into her world walks Owen, her new bodyguard and he happens to be an extremely hot “older guy.”
This is a super yummy, forbidden romance, forced proximity that’s Oh, so extremely hot and sexy!
There’s a lot of angsty tension, taunting, teasing and drool worthy naughtiness throughout this entertaining and engaging story.
It’s a very well rounded story of two people dealing with the after affects of extreme situations they’ve experienced. Situations that caused them extreme emotion/mental issues that they are left to deal with.
The characters are really so likable, multi dimensional and they’re also lots of fun.
I love the sassy Baylor who’s also very intelligent and mature for 18 years old. She’s rarely uncompromising with the rules, I love that she’s mature enough to understand the seriousness of her situation. She pulls a few bratty things that are age appropriate and fit the story well.
I love Owen’s protective nature, his deep care and understanding of Baylor’s emotions, his softer side adds to his delectable sexiness.
He’s starting his life over after a few years of an emotional breakdown of sorts. He’s a bit lost and trying to find his new path in life.
Baylor brings sparkle and lightness to Owen’s life that he really needs. He makes her feel safe, secure and truly seen as someone very special. It’s a great aspect of this age gap, protector/forbidden romance.
The story has suspense, mystery and swoony moments. There’s never a dull moment between the nail biting suspense, the fun light times and the sexy push and pull between these very intense characters.
They have volcanic levels of simmering to completely explosive heated chemistry! They are beyond hot together.
The author always writes very original, unique and crazy, hot sexy scenes. Decadent and delicious. I tip my proverbial hat to the author for ALWAYS making the steamy and sexy scenes so unique and original.
It’s a rare thing (I really am in awe) to have read every book by an author and I never feel like I’m getting the same sex scenario or even similar characters. Every story, every character is new, fresh, unique and so very good!
The romance isn’t just physical, it’s very emotional and smart as well. I love these characters and the balance between a taboo relationship and a relationship with substance and depth.
The secondary characters are fantastic! I love them!
They bring warmth, lightness and some really great heartfelt moments.
I LOVE & ADORE this incredibly entertaining, smart and super naughty forbidden romance.

Bad for a Weekend was more of an emotional ride than I was expecting. It was full of the wonderfully forbidden trope that I have been enjoying with the Blurred Lines series, but it was also so much more and I loved every moment of it.

The deep dive into dark and emotional places, not only enhanced this story, but brought out the connection between Owen and Baylor. They were magnetic together on the page, even with their fourteen year age gap. While they should have been wrong on lots of levels; their age, he is her bodyguard, while she is legal, she is still in high school and so on and so forth. Yeah, there are all kinds of things stacked against them, but their chemistry makes you want them to work and push through all of the practical, nasty obstacles thrown in their way and find a way to make love work. Like I said, this book is heartfelt and this is just scraping the surface.

Both Owen and Baylor connect because they recognize the same deep scars within one another. Deep darkness that can only be formed from a shared similar trauma. Age didn't matter when they were both suffering and these two understood one another on that level that no one else does. It's beautiful and precious and I loved reading about their journey towards healing.

Yes, there is also a lot of dirty, delicious and forbidden moments between them, which also connected them on this deeper level and all of that together, with my heart strings pulling the entire time, made this a fantastic book to read.

Owen and Baylor. A bodyguard romance. Age gap. A dash of angst and a whole lot of spice. I thoroughly devoured this book!

Baylor (Age 18) is the daughter of a famous actor and with that comes some hardcore reality.
Baylor was kidnapped from what everyone thought was a deranged fan possibly.
She’s in the public eye. She’s pretty. And she’s getting threats from someone…
Her father with huge guilt hires a bodyguard.
Owen. (Age 32) is trying to piece his life back together after a horrific and life altering moment in his life. In therapy and having a new job, being the babysitter to some teenager wasn’t life goals for him but when these two get to know eachother , they realize they have something in common. PTSD. Panic Attacks. Anxiety.

I didn’t realize how emotionally charged this book would be. It’s way more than just smut. These two are slowly intertwined into eachothers souls.

“Equal amounts of shame and desire course through my body. She’s barely legal and in a completely different stage of life than I am. I have no business being this drawn to her.”

“I’m asking for three nights. During the day you can be a grumpy asshole. But after everyone’s gone to bed, you drop the act and do everything you’ve ever dreamed about to me.”

“Come on, Owen. Be bad with me.”

These two have one night of fire. Everything Baylor ever wanted in a man, it’s all in Owen. But Baylor and Owen met in a time where they still had their own healing to do from their tragic pasts.
And a push and pull. It’s angsty. It’s emotional. And this book brings a lot of hard topics so check the trigger warnings.
It’s a romance. A good one. With an HEA.

Baylor, an 18 year old senior gets kidnapped by a crazy fan because her dad is Corey Giles, a Hollywood Actor Baylor’s dad hires a bodyguard named Owen to protect her. She protests but acquiesces. Ziggy, her bestie carries her back up to her room since she suffered a sprained ankle, a concussion and bruises

I absolutely loved all the twists and turns in this book as well as the relationship hurdles Owen & Baylor faced. This book was so steamy, hot and absolutely mind blowing. I love and own anything Misty writes. She’s an auto buy author for me . I highly recommend

- I’m so digging her dad. He sounds fun
- I appreciate when books like this don’t jump straight into attraction and sex. They’re getting to know each
- I’m shipping brandy and her dad
- hmph. That was a quick escalation. Only like 30% in. Would have like him to held out longer considering the taboo aspect
- I’m getting the vibe that maybe brandy and her dad aren’t gonna be a thing
- it doesn’t help in age gap romances when the younger person acts so childish
- nvm. He’s an even bigger idiot. Wtf was that yelling at the club for???? Lost all respect
- I don’t really believe in their love
- huh. Would not have thought that’s who the bad guy was. Makes sense
- THREE YEARS LATER??? Well then. Makes sense I suppose
-I would expect some angst but there’s zero emotions in this book
- nah. Daddy kink is not for me thank you very much

Loved it. Very sweet and suspenseful

I was very much attracted towards this book because of the age gap and the bodyguard trope. These forbidden themes are my favourite. But i was a bit disappointed. It didn't give off the vibe of forbidden. Sure he was older, bodyguard to the girl but there was no resistance much. Things moved. But if you ignore these tropes, it's a very good, nice live story and good development for the characters! It had suspense which held me in its grip. The formatting was also very smooth and the story moved very nicely so it was easy and not a struggle.

Deliciously sexy, surprinsgly emotive, and brimming with forbidden tension and angst! Bad for the Weekend is my kind of naughty- this age gap/body guard love story has sizzling steam and the right balance of heartfelt sweet.

The tropes of this story were an instant oneclick for me- age gap, forbidden, body guard, heroine in danger?! GIMME! And Misty delivered on all of those, but there was also a surprising emotional depth to this story too, one I didn't quite expect but that also gave the story an added and appreciated layer of substance. It tempers the edge of the taboo in a really delightful way by providing such an emotional complexity to these characters' connection with each other.

Owen is deliciously alpha and protective, and I loved how he struggles with the lines he's crossing. His own history and trauma inspire a real and formidable connection with her heroine, and their shared moments of vulnerability supersede any societal or professional boundaries...blurring lines. I really loved a hero like this- strong, intense, alpha, and stoic, but really emotionally open, with his own fragility. And while Baylor's sass at times chaffed, she's also a teenager, and to be fair, she's pretty mature for her age given both her privileged upbringing and her response to her traumatic kidnapping. As much as it is a romance, this is also a coming of age story for her, and a tale of two characters working their baggage in their shared lived experiences. It's emotive and rich, but also action packed- I love nothing more than seeing a hero protect a heroine.

Of course we have lots of sexy stuff, and a few twists along the way. Because of the narrative constructive, my only gripe is that our characters spend much of the story apart/not together. It ups the angst and anticipation, but makes this a much slower burn feeling AND made me crave a bit more content of the "falling" in love. Though the chemistry is certainly there.

Another amazing addition to the Blurred Lines series- which I have just adored. If you're looking for a forbidden story with a lot of heart, this one certain takes the cake.

I was dying to read the Blurred Lines series at the beginning of the year because I finished What Was Meant to Be by QB Tyler at the end of last year. It would be an excellent way to give new authors a try because it is a multi-author series. All of the books have some type of taboo element. Tyler's book was an age-gap/parent's best friend, while this is an age-gap/bodyguard romance. Granted, this one started even younger because Baylor is a high school senior; they didn't cross that line until she was in college, and they took some time apart to live their lives. There are still some books in this series that I'm curious about and want to try, but I'm not as adamant about reading them as I was.

Anyway, Bad for the Weekend was a lot of fun, and I really liked it, but I wish there was more action. We started the book and Baylor's being rescued, but we had the big mystery of who took her and why. We spend the book going down all the different routes, but it pushes to the background while the connection between Baylor and Owen is tense and growing. Baylor's the daughter of a famous celebrity, and it's one of the paths people are looking down to why she was taken. They're trying to find the truth because she's still in danger even after being saved. After all, the kidnapper got away. So it was kind of like kidnapper turned stalker.

Meanwhile, Owen and Baylor's connection keeps growing. Looking back, it was kind of cringy since she was still in high school when this started, but I'm pretty sure they kissed, and then the mystery is solved, and she goes off to college. The timeline is very confusing in the book and not my favorite. But it wasn't a bad bodyguard romance, and I love Misty Walker's books.
