Cute! Sawyer and Mason had great banter at the beginning, but it tapered towards the middle and was a bit clunky. I wish it would’ve been dual POV in first person, as it was weird listening to the narrators but then speak in 3rd person. I loved all the rom-com references and notes around tropes, I just wish the latter half was a bit stronger.

Possibly the pettiest reason for DNF-ing a book but when disappearing like “post-reputation era” Taylor Swift was mentioned I knew that this would include far too many wannabe Swiftie references. I can look past a few references even though they’re cringe but you gotta at least get the facts right 🙄

I saw lots of hype about this book pretty early on and was really excited to read it, but it fell flat for me. The characters are boring and lack depth and chemistry.

I really enjoyed this book and have plans to re-read.

I really loved this book and immediately recommended it to a friend. Sawyer is a well-know. romance author who doesn’t believe in love and Mason is a B list celebrity who is constantly dragged in the tabloids for falling for his co-stars. Sawyer and Mason team up to ruin every holiday romance trope they can before they part ways. This book starts with a bang and then slows down to a steady simmer for a majority of the book. The tropes were a ton of fun, the chemistry was great, and I loved two celebrities as MCs. I also adored the ending and the way they resolved their issues. I do think Sawyer’s hangups from her previous relationship were a bit blown out of proportion, but as Sawyer lives a very isolated life, I can understand how things got bigger in her head than they were in reality.
