A dystopia we can glance from present reality and a satisfying plot with a very well achieved mood with text, lines and colors. There is plenty of frustration at temporary lack of clarity and the constant feeling of obvious politics mixed with complex characters, just like real life.
Finished the book with tat weird sense that this seems to be avoidable and that we don't really know if we'll get to this point precisely, but the certainty that we ain't doing enough to prevent it anyway. And the damned unnecessary cliffhanger.
Waiting for the next part to find out if this is a 5star or a 3star story. But in any case, already very worth the read.

This one hit a little different. A cat and mouse game between a FBI agent, and an anti-nazi radical, set in a fascist police state in 2022 United States. Yikes.
The moody art supports the tension and bleak political landscape the characters inhabit. Though the book doesn't explain how the state of things came to the violent extremes we are presented with, its not hard to turn on the news IRL and see this progression. The world building leaves something to be desired, but the characters are fascinating and carry the plot along at a brisk pace. I am excited to see how this story will conclude.

Strong story, great plotting. Art, even if a little too confusing for my taste, serves well to emphasise the grim world that is depressingly (frighteningly?) like ours. Looking forward to future volumes.

The fragmentary story is almost meditative in its sparseness, and quite elementary, really. But the art - even though I really like the expressionist style - is very confusing, as the thick lines and subdued color palette make all characters look the same. It's really unprecedented that I would look at a conversation between a white male and an Asian female and I couldn't tell them apart in close ups, or wonder whether a character is appearing for the first time, or is one of the main characters in a new situation. This is a huge problem for this book, and it's a matter of a questionable stylistic choice. That being said, it's still enjoyable read. I wish both acts were released in a single volume, since it is such a quick read.

Wuh? Huh? The ending.... not gonna spoil it but I'll dimply say I was tremendously disappointed.
The art is gorgeous. No really, it's my favorite style and was a perfect match for the tone of the story. Zezelji's art is the love child of Maleev & Drucker and the story, until the end, reminded me of Ellis's Global Frequency and Wood's DMZ and that's all super fantastic... except I started getting a bit lost and felt the story was belabored and then, the awful and unsatisfying ending.
Oh well - perhaps you shall enjoy it more.
Bonus - if you read the single shots, at the end of each issue there are some great recommendations for books, music and poetry that pair well with the comic.

Reminds me a bit of Global Frequency with Maleev tossed in. Definitely a slowburn story development but I'm intrigued and hooked. Some nice use of cross page frames and the balance of dialogue overload and emptiness is excellent. Feels all too real.

Incoherent storyline. Couldn't finish because I didn't care enough to try.
