I would rate this as zero but I don't have the option.
I read the first 2-3 books of the series, I DNF the 3rd, I didn't like them they were poorly written. But this one is not only poorly written, it also has the added effect of romanticizing the KKK. I just don't understand why this white writer with her whole chest sat down and wrote this nonsense. Why would you romanticize the ku Klux Klan by writing a book about this main character. Are you out of your mind?! I was already annoyed with the first two pages of this book but as I read on I just can't understand the mentality you have to have to sit down and write this trash. Even the way he talks about the girl but he's supposed to want in the early chapters has my blood boiling. And it would be a white woman/author to think that a latina woman with sense would fall in love with a white supremacist / former white supremacist?!! Guess she thought story was plausible by making the Latina white?! I would say I'm surprised but white women especially white authors keep on disappointing me.

I liked getting to know Tanner more. This wasn’t my favorite of the series. There are A LOT of flashbacks and I don’t really care for flashbacks. Also I felt it wasn’t quite as dark but still 5 stars for me. This series is amazing!

I was disappointed in the Hangman not backing up Tanner more. However they come through in the end.

I did love the Romeo and Juliet parallel but with a darker twist and a happier ending.

Seriously, this series is by far one of the best I've read! These books completely gut me every time. I absolutely love...LOVE Tanner. I love his friendship with Tank, his loyalty to the club, and his devotion to Adelita. There is so much that happens that I'm not even sure how to write this review because I don't want to give anything away. This book had me in tears. There were several times where my heart was breaking for Tanner, Styx, and Adelita. Can't say this enough...I absolutely LOVE this series!

“I can’t lose you,” he appealed, and I unraveled when I saw his eyes glisten. “If the world doesn’t want us together, then we have to find a place that does. I want no one else, baby. You’re it. You’ve always been it.” “Tanner . . .”

i have not read this, but i find it disgusting and appalling that a white woman thought it was a good idea to write this and even more appalled that no one checked her. y’all really read a book filled with racial slurs and are eating it up.

First of all the cover is even more perfect after reading the book, it just fits this story so well. I was happy to dive into the dark and dangerous Hades Hangmen world again. It is one of my favorite series and I just absolutely love how the intricate main storyline keeps on developing more and more each book. Everything is connected and sometimes things aren't what they seem. Even though this book is mainly focusing on Tanner and Adelita, we still get pieces of Styx and a look into his past and current life. I adored his moments with Mae and it makes me want to reread their story again. I love that Tillie Cole really takes the time to develop every character in this series, and it makes me feel even stronger for them. The series and character development is just out of this world good.

The war between the cartel, klan and Hangmen is getting more brutal, serious and dangerous by the day. The love and connection between Tanner and Adelita was beautiful, they are enemies when they first meet, but they both can't fight the forbidden attraction. The loyalty between these two was phenomenal, they were perfect for each other. Darkness Embraced was dark, dangerous, suspenseful, action-packed, emotional and so beautiful at the same time. There were so many moments for which I didn't see a way out for the characters, and my heart broke for them. There were also a couple of twists the author added, which made me sad and happy at the same time. I absolutely loved this book and I was happy I was reunited with my favorite characters again.

“The White Prince and the cartel princess. It made no sense. Two people, who were never meant to be, found in the other their soulmate. The half of their heart that had yet to be claimed.”

Darkness Embraced is book 7 of The Hades Hangmen series. Forbidden romance in the air? This book brings its very own Romeo and Juliet vibe. I don’t know which one of these books is my favorite but this one is up there close to the top.

Tanner Ayers was born to be The White Prince of the Ku Klux Klan. Adelita Quintana the princesa of the Quintana cartel who’s whole life is a lie. When these two meet no one tries to hold onto the hate more than Tanner and no one is more surprised than Tanner when he falls in love with Adelita. He stops at nothing to try to change his life for the better. He leaves the Klan and joins the hangmen so they can eventually be together. Tanner is best friends with Tank and that was his connection and how he came to join the Hades Hangmen.

I have to say Tanner Ayers surprised me. We knew his background from some of the other books but when it was all brought to light it was shocking. The beatings him and his brother received even as young kids from their father, just so they would hate people of different skin color; was so traumatic. The scene where Tanner gets beat around the age six made me feel physically sick. I have to say Beau surprised me in this one as well. I hope we get more interactions with him.

Adelita’s whole story ends up being painful and unexpected. I never expected her to be related to one of the Hangmen. I don’t think she could have experienced anything more traumatic and hurtful than her finding out the truth about her real family and the secrets the man she thoughts was her father kept. To find out her whole life was practically a lie, was devastating.

I loved Luis, Adelita’s priest. He was such a brave soul and he was loyal to her. He risk everything to save her after Diego beats her.

Tillie Cole I love this world you brought to life for your readers. This dark, suspenseful, MC romance has captivated me. I’ve not been able to put this series down, it was the right thing to pick up, as it’s help my book slump tremendously.

‘“It took a fucking long time. But we did it. The White Prince. The cartel princess. The world tried to keep us apart. We told the world “fuck you.”’

Heartfelt, and a great addition to the Hades Hangmen series!

I really enjoyed Tanner and Adelita’s story. Were some things predictable? Yes. Did I care? No. I’m invested in these characters now. I wouldn’t say everything was predictable though; some things surprised me, and the book made me more emotional than I thought it would. I loved this beautiful story so much!
