my heart was sooooo uwu the entire time

4⭐ so cozy

didn't like the ending though

This was such a let down compared to the first book. It was boring and even the conflict wasn’t exciting

Raeta, why don't you just take my heart out and stamp on it!

I do apologize for the lateness of this arc review, life has been overwhelming. Thank you again for providing me this book.

This was the perfect sequel to Peaches and Honey. The pain that this book inflicts on you is just. Chef's kiss.

Anna and Khiran have such a poetic love. The writing and storytelling of this duo really captured the beauty and not quite human feeling of an immortal love story. There were so many beautiful, poignant moments in this book and this duo is definitely in my favorite reads of the year.

4 - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“He speaks against her mouth, lips brushing over hers with every syllable. “I would give you the world, Anna.”

Pits & Poison: These Godly Lies marks the conclusion of a brilliant duology that tells the story of an immortal love that bloomed throughout different lifetimes.

Without spoiling much of the story, being able to live forever does not mean you are spared from feeling sorrow and grief, or having to make sacrifices, or being able to live your happily ever after eternally when there is a bigger threat that casts a shadow over your happiness.

Anna and Khiran's love was powerful and deliciously angsty. I appreciate the respect and trust they had in each other and it truly proves just how deeply in love they are with one another.

The author created a distinctive fantasy romance story intricately layered with myths of gods and a divine tree.

The only reason I had to deduct a star was due to parts of the book feeling just a little bit stagnant.

Overall, I highly recommend this if you're looking for a unique story with magic and a romance that spans more than 800 years.

Content warning: violence, grief, deaths.

this duology gives me hope that there are still good romantasy books out there. the slow burn, the pure love, the found family, the time jumps, the world traveling, the action, the EMOTION. this had it all. and what i actually loved most was that it focused more on character development and how this couple adapted to the most overwhelming situations of change and not a single smut scene was to be found. this was the perfect ending to this duology. one of my new faves!!!!

My god, I can’t believe how much I loved this. The first book was great and the foundation it established really set this book up for success… but the way everything unfolded in this book was so much better than I imagined. The first book felt directionless at times… I mean, how can it not when the characters are immortal? But with the clear direction given near the end of the first book, there’s this constant, anxious anticipation following you throughout this book. Mix that with romance, adventure, and mystery, I couldn’t put this book down. I simply loved every second of it. I’m heart broken that I have to leave these lovely characters and this incredible magic system. It’s so fun to think about history in the lens of this story. What a creative take on something so seemingly simple. I loved the writing style, I loved the plot, I loved its uniqueness and I just can’t wait to pick it up again in the future. This duology is tremendously underrated… READ THIS BOOK DAMN IT!
