If you loved Peaches & Honey, buckle up. Pits & Poison did not disappoint!

I would give anything to be able to read this duology all over again for the first time. R. Raeta’s writing is absolutely beautiful and I’ve LOVED following Anna and Khiran’s story. I’m just heartbroken it had to end. The ending wasn’t what I was expecting whatsoever, but I believe it’s fitting for them, especially Khiran! I was so immersed in this story I literally read the whole thing within a 12 hour period. I could NOT put it down and I was B A W L I N G by the end!!

I do wish we had more Cassius. I loved him

The time line narrows down considerably with this book which I think serves the narrative well. There was not so much emphasis on historically notable events since, understandably, the characters are more concerned with their own survival.

It’s still sweet and tender, though. And the central theme remains the same as the previous book: that for both good and bad, time changes everything.

This felt like a very different book from the first but not in a bad way. The first was about character development and this was more plot. Was invested from the beginning!
