No longer interested in the characters or story. Felt boring and unrealistic relationships.
Rating: 4.5/5*
This book was the perfect conclusion to its simultaneously heartbreaking and hopeful duology.
Unlike Peaches & Honey, Pits & Poison focused more on character development and consequences than various points and locations throughout history. Still, it was filled with the same lush, lyrical prose and angst that made its precursor enjoyable.
The new characters introduced were just as compelling as the characters from the first book and added to the narrative's richness.
Overall, the best part of this duology is how it demonstrates that there is perpetual beauty in human life, even when things are wrong, and suffering is abundant. If you want a read that feels both bittersweet and achingly hopeful with comparable energy to The Invisible Life of Addie Larue and Before the Devil Knows You're Here, where the story begins closer to Addie Larue and Ends more along the lines of Before the Devil Knows You're Here, this duology could be for you.

I wish we got to see more about The First and the family's dynamics! Still love Anna and Khiran though 🥰

Not as captivating as the first, but still a good story. Wrapped up pretty nicely!
This final book of the duology is just as wonderful as the first book. No full review.
I actually felt the first book was enough story for me, and while I enjoyed this and felt the end was the sweetest hug, I still don’t think I needed this.
