Listened to this. It was ok, but for me lacked something. I'm not massively invested and not sure I'll follow up on any of the other books.

Really enjoyed this story and characters. The Sumerian mythology was a nice change. The only thing keeping it from being five stars is the cliffhanger ending!

4.5 Stars - I loved this introduction to the Sumeria's Sons world. The characters are interesting, the book fast paced and rich with lore. This is a re-read - I read the Silver Publishing version a while ago. I didn't notice any difference, although there were a few editing errors I noticed (missing or incorrect words). It didn't detract from my enjoyment of the book. My only complaint is that it was too short. I am glad I have book two queued up right away.

I really haven't decided on a rating yet...
It's such a short book but with a lot inside. Sometimes I was utterly confused, in the next instant everything made sense.

Lexi Ander has introduced a fascinating new twist on shifters based on Sumerian mythology. Tristan has lost his Twin Flame, his destined mate, due to betrayal, but his friend Ushna is still there for him no matter what. When he has to step in to protect Ushna, feelings that Tristan didn't even realize that he had begin to surface. But is he the only one?

The sweet and sexy romance is only beginning in this installment though. And the true plot is only starting to show. The ending left me with lots of questions about Tristan's family and his and Ushna's future. Way to leave me hanging, Lexi!

This story is a good mix of fantasy and urban fantasy. Mythology also played a part in the story, which tells each person has a twin flame, another soul which each Lycan share a symbiotic connection. If that connection is neglected, the soul feels neglected and damaged, but when nourished, the bonded flames are at their best in strength, joy and control.

Here, Tristan Jannick bonded to Alpha Theo Sullivan, but Theo didn't reciprocate. It caused Tristan to suffer mental, emotional and physical anguish. After a trial, Tristan was allowed to sever the one way bond. He also went in a self imposed Exile with his best friend Ushna Ahura Yazda as company.

When an event caused Ushna to lose control of his wolf and go Lupe, Tristan was able to soothe the Lupe until Ushna regain control. That event created a cascade of events which revealed the truth about Tristan's past and changed the course of his future.

The story was a good beginning to a interesting series where gods played a role in the love matches and love meddling of two lives unlocking the two flames potential and each serving as an anchor for the other.
This is my first story by the author and I was completely engaged. The patience, friendship and loyalty between Tristan and Ushna was endearing. I loved the twist to Tristan's past and I look forward to seeing how he will embrace his destiny. This one will be a treat for UF & Fantasy lovers who enjoy mythology

it started out so promising. and then it was so bad lmao. I got whiplash so hard. It was this really cool Mesopotamian take on lycan/werewolf type stuff I was super into it. and then suddenly we were doing brokeback mountain. and it just didn't recover.

This was such an amazing intro to this series. You start off with the breaking of a bond that should be sacred but has been neglected. Then you see Tristan as he discovers who he truly is, and what lengths he will go to, to protect what he cares about.

The book has an incredibly developed world and mythology. Including a full pantheon of Gods and Goddesses, don't worry you get a cheat sheat of them at the back of the book. Also the main characters are Lycans *werewolves* with quirks unique to their species, a hierarchy, and a monarchy that is thought to be dissolved.

I love the relationship between Tristan and Ushna. How it changes for Ushna being Tristans protector to well you're just going to have to wait and see now won't you?

The first book is more of a novella but I have high hopes the next books in the series are longer.

This book has graphic sex scenes between two men so if you're not into that this series isn't for you.

I experienced this book in audio for and it was narrated by Matt Haynes who did a great job with the accents. The story was different and interesting and I will most likely continue with the series.

I liked the story, it's original and refreshing. Good, solid characters.

Didn't like the info dump much. There was too much telling of the story and not enough experiencing.
