Kellen Graves is the love of my LIFE. I will never not read a book that they publish. Despite being less angsty, I really enjoyed Rowan Blood III and can’t wait for the next! Herald of the Witch’s Mark introduces some amazing side characters and I’m excited to see where the story progresses in the coming books.

I think this is my favourite of the series so far. Cylvan's and Saffron's relationship feels real in a way I wasn’t expecting when I read the first book. The author avoided every single trope I hate by simply letting them communicate and it was beautiful. Can’t wait for the next book.

I wanna say, I came into this thinking it was a trilogy. It was not a trilogy. Now I've finished the book and it ended on a cliff hanger. I'm distraught and upset frankly.
This book was definitely a big boy for me. I'm unsure of the word count but there were quite of a lot words crammed onto each page. It builds a lot on the existing lore from the previous two books which does it a service. We already have the concepts of opulence and arid, the rowan witches, the veil, and more.
This book adds a lot of rowan witch as well as exploring more of the veils. It didn't feel as heady as the first book since we were able to sort of sprinkle it into the plot. I'm very excited to learn more about the human world and the veil in the next book potentially.
There are sooo many more character moments in this book. I love Saffron and Cylvan being lovey dovey. I'll say it again though, frankly Saffron is TOO GOOD for Cylvan! Saffron is very much a do it himself kind of guy but also bats his eyelashes at Cylvan. I love it so much.
Cylvan does get a few good moments that make him a bit more redeeming. I'm still squinting at him though.
We also get a lot of new characters that I absolutely loved. I'm very excited to explore them more. Copper is definitely a favorite of mine. Little stinky bully man, I wanna crush him in my palm.
The plot was definitely the highlight in this book. It really did keep me at the edge of my seat the whole time. I didn't know what was going to happen. There isn't too much I can say without being major spoilers but I'll say one thing under spoiler.
Honestly, I had less stress in this book BUT I was still STRESSED the entire time. Except when Cylvan and Saffron were kissing.
I fucking knew Ryder was a rat from the beginning. He made me so uncomfortable trying to get under Saffron's skin.
Kellen Graves says 2024 but I dont know if that'll happen in November 2024 right now. However, even if it doesn't. I'm looking forward to it.

God I love gay people. I for some reason thought this was the last book in this series, so imagine my surprise when it was not. I genuinely can't wait to read more of this series whenever it comes out!!

I finally finished after taking longer than expected to finish reading this. I really enjoyed this volume as it added more lore and world building with new threats. I like the evolution of Saffron in his act of being a high fey lord and how Saffron and Cylvan act with each other. I am excited to know more in the next volume and ready to read her other books!
