The Doctor’s Wife kept me interested enough to want to keep reading and find out what happened, but it was fairly predictable. There were no shocks or twists, I wouldn’t exactly call it a ‘thriller.’ But it was still an enjoyable quick read.
2.5 - Whewww, this book almost ended up in the dnf pile. The juicy parts happened during the last 40% of the book. It was an okay book but I have read better thrillers.

I have enjoyed Daniel Hurst's books but I truly think this is his best one yet.
I literally could not put it down. Full of twists and turns, lies and deceit. I loved all of the characters, even the ones you were meant to hate.
I loved the ending. I loved everything about it.now to read the ARC i have for the sequel called The Doctors Widow

This was my first read from Daniel Hurst and it certainly won't be my last!
The Doctor's Wife had such an incredibly simple premise but I felt the need to force myself to sleep halfway through this book. If I had started reading earlier in the evening, I would have easily read this book in one sitting.
I'd love to know how the author feels about Fern because I absolutely love her. One of the reasons I loved this book so much is that there was no straightforward "victim" or "perpetrator". Everyone was varying shades in between.
I have another Hurst on my Kindle that I bought but haven't read yet, so I'll definitely be starting it very soon!

Good twists, cannot wait to read others in this series.
This is my first book by Daniel Hurst and it was a great psychological thriller. It was a quick, easy listen told from two POVs - the doctor and the doctor's wife. Neither of the main characters are likeable. Doctor Drew is horrible and his wife, Fern, isn't much better. The story grabbed me from the start and continued at a fast pace with several twists. I loved the settting of a small seaside village on the England/Scotland Border. I would definitely listen to more by this author.
Nicely read by Sarah Durham and David Wayman.
