This was okay. I read it to pass an extremely dull afternoon, and it did that for me, so that's a plus! It's fairly clunky and the narrative isn't particularly clever or well-written, but the story was fun even if it followed fairly predictable lines.
Delectable suspense novel. The character development was spot on and I could feel the tension as the story progressed. The audiobook narrators were fantastic and really enhanced the experience for me. The epilogue is what took this from a 5 star book to a 4 star book. It tried to accomplish too much, that really didn’t need to even be addressed. I’m going to pretend the epilogue doesn’t exist and have the story end at the last chapter, in my mind. Fantastic read.

This is essentially a revenge story. And I’m always eager to read a revenge plot. As per usual, Hurst’s realm is the domestic thriller. So we’re dealing with infidelity.
I thought it was interesting and I was invested throughout. The duel POV was unnecessary because it would just repeat what we’ve already heard another character say with no new details.
The epilogue though… the setup for a sequel was so bad. To introduce a friend character that is never hinted at and yet this person knows all this dirt and wants to avenge is a stretch. But Hurst’s books are pure pulp so it’s not gonna deter me from reading the next book.

Fern and Rory hatch a revenge plot. Rory kills Drew then they both frame Alice for the murder. Alice goes to prison. The Doctors Wife - Daniel Hurst
⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
This was a quick and easy read read it was enjoyable even if a little to predictable.
The book Is told from the point of view of Fern and Drew.
Fern is Drew's wife who has no idea of the affair her husband is having. However, what would happen if she does find out? And what lengths will Drew go to protect his secret.
The characters I found were a bore Doctor Drew Devlin was a sad desperate man, there was nothing excitable about him at all he spent most of the book moping about. Fern was also unlikeable but I was more #teamFern.
Although the plot was predictable, the ending led on nicely to the sequel that I was not expecting and now I feel invested in finding our where the story goes so I will read the next book.

3.5! I kept seeing a few friends reading Daniel Hurst’s books so I thought I would try one out! I enjoyed the dual POVs and back and forth timeline for more info. Doctor Drew?? Just wow no and Fern I just I enjoyed not liking them if that makes sense!
3.5 stars rounded up.
Although most of the story is predictable, there is a plot twist that I definitely see coming.
The Doctor’s Wife is a quick story that may not be the biggest mystery, but it’s enjoyable enough.
Huge thank you to Bookoutoure Audio and NetGalley for sending me this ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts.
