I enjoyed this, but... I'm not sure what all the fuss is about. The story lost me in places, the art was ok (not a patch on Sin City). I'm really not sure why it is heralded as a landmark in comics - there doesn't seem to be anything special.
I love the idea of ageing superheroes though; fun to see Selina Kyle as over-weight and late middle-age.
And that Bat tank, there should have been more of that...

I definitely see why people regard this as the greatest Batman story ever told. It’s great. One complaint I have is that there’s way too much pointless dialogue, but that’s pretty minor. So yeah. It’s great.
Had to read this for a class but I was so confused from start to finish, things kept happening so quickly. I don't think comics are for me.
Not nearly as interesting as I'd hoped, given all the hype. I'm starting to feel like every "major" work I've read by Frank Miller describes the exact same tough, old, battle-torn strategist of a man, wearing the same expression, surrounded by the same non-stop action.

I actually went out and bought the first edition of this comic. It was when i was 17. I actually found the story quite interesting as it did not come anywhere near the typical batman comics i used to read. The art was extremely innovative. But it took some time for me to grasp the overall plot considering the fact that this comic was more of a graphic and bit more refined in comparison to the ordinary monthly or weekly bat comics.

I love Batman. He has always been my most favourite superhero..
It made an interesting read but the graphics could have been better. I really liked the story but the way it was presented made it difficult to understand what was happening. During a fight, who was hitting whom? Even conversations were not that good. And sometimes when the thinking part comes, you won't understand who is thinking that.. Is it Robin or joker or Batman or Superman?!! Many people are in the frame at once and you won't know who is saying what..But ending was good, in fact very good.
