This is my favorite limited Batman series ahhh. Wow. I love the Robin. I love his relationship with Superman LIKE A LOT. the pacing is so good, the characters are amazing, it is so up to date.

I've never really read comics before. I've been exposed to them, but I never actually picked one up. I decided to do a bunch of research and see where to begin.

I had read about DC's new overhaul but I wanted something easily accessible. I came across several lists with Miller's so called masterpiece.

I wasn't disappointed. I'm a huge fan of Batman, and I have been for a very long time. This take on a older batman, come back out of retirement is fantastic. A new robin, old villains, new ones, with cameos by green arrow, catwoman, and of course Superman makes for a great story.

I heard that the upcoming Batman vs. Superman movie is going to draw on some of Millers book. If that's true, I am even more exited to watch.

Frank Miller's got a pretty good comic here, eh!? Batman comes off as sort of an elderly, obsessive, senile fascist but somehow Ronald Reagan still manages to be the least likable, most horrendously evil character as always. There are definitely some homophobic and misogynistic undertones as is typical of Frank. That said, the art never loses the gritty, tragic feel that makes the story so enthralling. The pacing is great, and the fights are epic. A genuinely creative take on real old characters. Love what he does with the other characters in the Batman-verse. They all seem decrepit, aged, and cynical in a diverse set of ways. Like more ways than you could think of someone being old. Kinda makes ya sad. But pretty good comic.

I love Batman comics but this felt too edgy for my liking, there were certain moments that were a bit much and felt unnecessary, all very much of the time it was released

Wow, this Gotham City is DARK. Very Hobbesian. But a good, multi-dimensional presentation of Batman.
