however this book has been on my list for years. I had a great time reading it. the format was super cool, and made the reading experience fly by.

Kady is a fantastic character and honestly Aidan is a hoot too.

I found this book at a used book store so I don't have the rest of the series , but hopefully I will pick up the other two at some point and carry on this fun reading experience.

Really well done & engrossing

I have read prior work by Jay Kristoff so approached this with interest. At first the different voices telling the tale were a little off-putting but very quickly they meshed and enabled the two authors to present a rich and interesting novel. The voices also were presented in different manners, some as conversation transcripts, others as third party observations, while other approaches included interior monologues. The formats also vary to match the presentation approaches. Trust me it works (except for my ebook proviso below).
Themes include artificial intelligence/life, people & relationships and coming of age. None of these were presented in a heavy handed manner rather they were developed as the novel progressed.
I won't say anything else as it would be too close to spoilers! One recommendation, don't read as an ebook (as I did) as some of the graphical presentation did not translate well. I am ordering the next one as soon as I can!

This book was incredible!! The storytelling method takes a little bit to get used to and understand, but once you get used to it, it is one of the highlights of the book. The storyline is put together incredibly well, and is full of so many twists and turns that you almost never know what to expect. The characters are dynamic and grow with the book. I became connected to many of them even though they were only mentioned a handful of times. Illuminae was enthralling and beautiful, and I would highly recommend it!
