“If I breathed, I would sigh. I would scream. I would cry.”

This was absolutely amazing! If you are unsure about picking this one up because of it’s format, then I highly recommend you read it while listening to the audiobook! It complements it perfectly and it has some great sound effects that will have you feel like you’re watching an awesome sci-fi movie!

Kady Grant is a badass! I love how strong and spunky her character is. She has so much wit and smarts.

“She is catalyst. She is chaos.”

And don’t let me get started on Ezra Mason. *swoon* That’s all I have to say.

“You have me. Until the last star in the galaxy dies. You have me.”

What more can I say? This book has it all. Some really badass characters, a war in space, a crazy AI... oh, that’s right AIDAN! I think AIDAN has to be my favorite character from this series, seriously, he’s just that great!

I almost DNF when the teenage love story across ships floating in space started getting annoying fast, but I'm happy I persevered! The little surprises towards the end were worth hanging in there. I even ended up checking out the second book in the series from the library.

When I say this book is SO GOOD.

This tale is sci fi futuristic, war, plague, AI gone rogue with a touch of romance. This was so excellent to read and immediately needed to jump straight into the second of the series!

I listened to the audiobook which was such an amazing and captivating experience, and then I hear the physical copy of the book is as visually stunning and creative as the audiobook is enthralling (I'm going to need to add this to the shelf)

Oh my god y'all this book. This BOOK, where do I even begin? The way this book was delivered was hands DOWN, one of the most unique deliveries I have ever seen in my entire life. From the chat room pages to AIDAN's specific layout to the repetition of words/phrases used to create an image, everything was just so immersive. Like I was IMMERSED in this book, not necessarily living the lives of the characters portrayed in the book but actually THERE with them as they dealt with the shit they had to go through. And I know that's what a book is supposed to do I get it, but this felt so incredibly different.

And so many of the plot points pulled such a strong reaction out of me. I was actually screaming when AIDAN destroyed the Copernicus, I was crying when I got to the pages filled with hundreds of pictures meant to portray the lives lost, I was SCREAMING again when AIDAN released all the infected from Bay 4, and I was thoroughly disturbed by the description of the headless bodies spelling out 'HELP ME.' And speaking of AIDAN, can I just say this book made me NOT want any form of AI in the near future because we all know that shit is gonna get out of our control. We can hardly keep Alexa in line so how do we possibly think we can keep a Sentient Technological Being under our control? We cannot, next.

And can I also say Thank You for giving us such a badass female character? Kady, the pink-haired 17-year-old that lost almost everything she could ever care about, risking her life to save as many as she could. And she was given one of the coolest skills ever? A young female hacker, a "chiphead," like damn she's a role model in my book. If I were younger and didn't quite know what I wanted to do with my life, this would definitely get me interested in the technology field. The STEM fields could use more females anyways.

So yeah, great book, superb delivery, can't wait to read the others in the series. 👏

This might be a little extreme, but I think this is the best YA book I've ever read? It definitely sits near The Hunger Games and the Unwind series in my head. I absolutely loved this. It was so cleverly put together and effective. It was seriously such an amazing ride and I can't wait for the sequel!

4-4.5
this book was so amazing and so COOL! like nothing i’ve ever seen before, visuals and writing both included.

“You have me. Until the last star in the galaxy dies, you have me.”

Is it possible that this was even better the second time round?

this is a masterpiece
