I read this in one sitting! The first time I’ve ever read a book in one sitting and it’s the first Sci-Fi I’ve ever read! This book broke me and put me back together again. A rollercoaster of emotions. I can’t not give this 5 stars

Holy crap! I hardly read science fiction but I might have to start reading more. The layout of this story is so incredibly unique and the reveals at the end were so heart breaking. I rarely cry at books but this one got me. These authors are incredible at what they do and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series!
I listened to the audiobook version and it was great! The readers were wonderful and put a lot into their performances, and it was like listening to a dynamic play set in a far off galaxy. Way better than I expected!

"AM I NOT MERCIFUL?"
I don´t even know where to start, it´s funny how it´s hardest to write a review for a book you love so much, but there is just so much I love about this, I don´t even know where to start. I was hooked from the very first page!
So let´s start with the obious: the formatting! This book is a masterpiece in formatting, not only showing the occasional special page but almost every page surprising you with something new. But be warned, if you know that searching for all the information on a page is something that annoys you and you´d rather read straight forward, this is not the book for you. But if you´re up to an adventure and something unseen (at least to me), this is the book to start.
Now to the other amazing part: the story! How can you make a 600+ page book, more than 8 hours of reading, feel like I´ve just watched a movie?!? It´s crazy how the story pulls you in, makes it almost impossible to put the book aside. There are twists and turns, at corners I didn´t even know would be there, always surprising you with something new. This book is a masterpiece in giving you hope and then shattering it completely, turning your world upside down, just to give you a glimpse of hope on the next page. And just when you think something not possible, suddenly it is. This book made me cry my eyes out, like litteraly, ugly cry, sob!
I feel in love with so many characters in the book, the MCs, so many side characters and even ones I would have never expected. Seeing their good and their bad sides, their best and their worst - it all made it feel real. The writing style feels so much like watching a it go down right in front of you, being part of the story.
Something that I really value in this story, are the moral questions asked. What is mercy? What is right, what is wrong? It makes you ask yourself, what would you do?
The love story in this book was somewhat surprising to me, and even though it never was the focus, it pulled the whole story together, giving it a golden string, stringing along every page. Breaking your heart and fixing it again, just to break it again.
I have so much more to say about this book, so many positive feelings and thoughts I just can´t seem to put into words. All I know to say is: This book was an easy 5 stars. Making me cry, and laugh, hope and desire, expect just to be thaught not to.

So may of the characters I started to love, just died... gone with them and I couldn´t believe it! The authors wouldn´t dare to kill off another one, would they? Oh yes, they would! And they do. I really enjoyed this book. It starts with a bang, and doesn't let up for air the whole way through. Took away one star for issues with how book ends. Not gonna say anything so np spoilers. Loved the rec!
