Woah. Like, seriously. Woah. There were so many good things about that book. The format was super-interesting and the descriptions were gruesome enough to do the brutality justice but not enough to make you want to quit reading. It sucked me in entirely. It was funny in the right places and intense in pretty much all of the others. A little slow at the beginning, but not for long because then things go down. In silent explosions. At one point, I thought to myself, "this is Star Wars in book form," which it is, but with less aliens and more diseases-that-turn-you-into-a-psychopath. And much more intense. Honestly, I'm racking my brains and I can't come up with any complaints. Awesome.

The Full cast audio was excellent with sound effects and great acting. The plot moves quickly with the nature of how information is shared. Definitely riveting and well described, could easily see this a cinematic adaptation.

Illuminae was really a 4.5, but I didn't have the heart to give it a 4 star marking.

Well, for once in a seemingly long while, I've finally read a truly engrossing book! The format was interesting and creative, the worldbuilding was well-said without hitting the reader over the head to catch up with technology or anything, and I physically covered my mouth in anxiety and anticipation about 3/5 in.
My only problems with this book can be dealt with, especially with the format. What was the company that owned Kerenza? That name was not said nearly enough. Also, I wish Ezra would have had more character development, but I know you could only do so much with that format, so I'll wait for the next book for that. Another thing would be some more descriptors of the characters. That would have been great to see what could have been done with that in the security footage sections.
Overall, this book really grabbed my attention! I'm really glad that I got to read it.
