I enjoyed reading this memoir, it was like getting to go to someone else’s therapy sessions. However, it began to bore me eventually. I think it’s a worthwhile and interesting read, but not the most exciting intellectually.

Rating based on the structure and craft, not the writer's experiences! The transcripts are interesting, but I wish Baek had done more reflection and introspection on those conversations. I wanted more out of this. Also, the structure itself is disjointed and weird with the tiny essays in the back? Maybe this is something Korean essays or memoirs tend to do. Also also, this scared me about going to therapy lol felt very medication-oriented (which is definitely what some folks need!) but feels scary to me personally

i think most of the stars i gave is bc how relatable it is to me. despite the absence of clear closure, the journey that it opened up through ending it with a wish is heartwarming enough as it is
I didn't vibe w the dialogue/transcript portions with the therapist. It felt very stilted.
The last 15-20% of essays felt overly verbose.
The insights overall felt fairly juvenile even though the author is only 1 year younger than me.
The "postscript" essay and the title were my favorite portions.
I also want to die and I really love eating ddukbokgi
