Is this book my comfort read? Yes. Did that concern me a bit at first? Also yes. Am I still concerned after my second read through? Hell no.

First and foremost, who doesn’t love a strong (physically and mentally) FMC who don’t *need no man* but wants one? I know a do.

I was concerned at first about being into a masked stalker book, but Allen did an amazing job of making it morally grey rather than full on freaking weird. Yes, I know anyone breaking into someone’s house is *weird* but, in the world of books where anything can happen, this was best case scenario. A kinda stalker who you kinda know? Okay it worked for me.

I melted for Josh. Felt for him and his experience with darkness and the unknown. I loved his internal dialogue that sometimes had me sad for him and other times had me cackling at his humor and wit.

The banter between the characters was TOP NOTCH. I mean… possibly my favorite couple of all time.

I’m not a miscommunication trope/third act break up girl, so this book did it for me. A minor freak out over major news? Yep! Sign me up. Allen nailed it.

Y’all WTF did I just read.

It felt like a car wreck I couldn’t look away from.

I don’t want to yuck someone else’s yum….but what.

The epilogue was literally a scene from a Law and Order episode, except the lady doesn’t die after getting chased down in the woods.

This guy breaks into her house, sets up cameras, watches her and she’s like this is hot because I’ve been watching your masked YouTube videos forever.

Then, she is in real danger and they accidentally kill the guy, so they have to get her mob family involved.

But they don’t trust the mob family so the guy, who is a mega hacker - also his dad was a serial killer - threatens the mob uncle.

Will I read the next one?
Probably.

I feel like the audio book is the way to go for this one! The actors did a great job of giving the book personality and it helped me overlook some of the things that might have driven me crazy just reading it normally. Definitely good for some belly laughs and a kinky romance. There was a plot thrown in there somewhere around halfway that seemed kind of shoe-horned in, but otherwise enjoyable regardless.
