sometimes I reread books I read in middle school for fun, WHAT OF IT

This just might be the most ridiculous book I've ever read and it's certainly a top contender but the sense of humor actually really did appeal to me. I didn't think that the humor in this would be my type of thing because it just sounded dumb so I was pleasantly surprised to find that I enjoyed the book. Normally, I'm not a "potty" humor kind of girl, but I found that the jokes really stayed on the silly side more than the gross side. The moment I realized that I probably would enjoy the book was right at the beginning:

"George and Harold were usually responsible kids. Whenever anything bad happened, George and Harold were usually responsible."

This is the kind of humor that is absolutely my favorite. Any kind of turn of phrase or subversive wording gets me really tickled.

Good job surprising me Captain Underpants.

Read it with the kiddos and we all enjoyed it and laughed out loud. Definitely a series we will read a lot more of.....they begged to go to the library and get book #2 at 8pm.

My kid LOVED this book!
funny lighthearted fast-paced

How could I forget these? I will insist these were genius and refuse to accept any info to the contrary

I grew up reading these books. I'm so happy I get to read them now for my son. They still give me a good chuckle after all these years.

This book was the first novel my son read when he was 8. He liked it enough to keep reading them, but its not his favorite one. He thought some parts were a tad slow, still had that toilet humorous which he can appreciate; he liked the comical the best in this.novel. His favorite is #2 and #3.

My daughter loved it, of course, and I had fun too.
