My 2nd grade niece got me to read this book- and it's hilarious! What an imaginative and adventure-filled story for kids. While I enjoy teaching spelling, I appreciate the kid-appropriate inventive spellings in the comic strip portions. I feel that this shows kids you don't have to get the first draft perfect to write/tell a great story. This book will appeal to reluctant readers, and to those that appreciate good underwear humor. *Mini-spoiler: Captain underpants let's his undies loose... ;)

Little boy loves Captain Underpants.

Not sure if this is really a story for children.

fUNNY!! Loved it as a kid, and it was still pretty great but not as great now. Still enjoyed it though!

Okay, personally I don't love it. But reading it to a group of wicked high-energy, low-level 4/5 grade boys certainly was successful, and they loved it. If you can handle potty humor, it will engage almost any young reader who likes that, and the drawings are funny.

I was surprised at how funny this is for an adult. I read it because it was number one on the band book a few years back.

I now understand why it's so popular and I can't wait for the movie.

Fun and funny

OMG...so funny. I read this for Banned Books Week - as it is so frequently banned - and I can see why some parents (and possibly school administrators) don't like this very much. But I thought it was great!
