A five-year old’s take: 20,002,000 stars! The best parts were the kabooms and the part with the police officers, and all the funny parts.

This was a fun book to read with my 5 year old. He loved it, and often felt the need to act out scenes from the book.

So happy to reread one of my childhood favorites

I'm honestly surprised at how much I liked this. Don't get me wrong. This is simple, fart-jokey humor, but everything in this book has a purpose. Character names came from a significant place, and these comics are ones Dav wrote as a kid that he revisited as an adult to make these. These are fun stories that make my heart happy, and I'll admit that fart jokes are right up my alley.

As a 30-year-old woman, it's hard to review a book that is meant for 7-year-old boys. While I didn't personally enjoy this read, I can see the value in this book for its intended audience. Yeah, it's cheap bathroom humor, but if it gets kids interested in reading and shows them that books are not just stuffy "literature," then more power to it. This here is a gateway book, my friend. We'll reel 'em in with poop jokes and get 'em reading Kafka in no time.

Surprisingly, I liked this book. I guessed it was going to be all potty humor and on a too low reading level. That said, I wanted to see what it was all about and why so many parents had a conniption about it. Actually, I think it's pretty genius. If your kiddo wants to read it, then I say party on.

Am I feeling so nostalgic that I want to re-read one of my childhood favorites? Yes I do and it was everything.

Needed a palate cleanser and Dav Pilkey delivered! I loved this series as a kid (although I’m not sure why my mom let me read it). It was a quick one hour listen that reminded me of why I started loved reading as a kid. Laugh out loud!

I picked this up recently for dirty cheap at a thrift store. I saw the movie and didn’t care for it.

What a fun read! It’s fast and easy and it incorporates not just pictures and text but we get comic book panels and flip books. Light hearted fun for any kid or adult whose a kid at heart. I’ll gladly keep my eyes out for the other books.
