I just couldn’t get into it or understand if it is just wow I don’t know definitely not my cup of tea

If you want a good cry, read this.

*slight spoilers maybe but honestly who cares. it's necessary*

so we have an absolute god awful boy as a love interest that does nothing but belittle the main character. he constantly comments about her weight and tells her she needs to eat more and that if she gained 30 pounds she would be more like the girls he likes but then all of a sudden he's mad crazy about her?? first of all, you guys are step-siblings so how you even let any sort of romantic feelings into your head is beyond me. our main character keeps her sickness to herself but is pretty open about everything else. kaiden never talks about anything with himself and then has the audacity to get upset when emery doesn't tell him she's sick?
can we also talk about the fact that kaiden thinks that if you haven't kissed or slept with anyone you're 'not living'. and how he apparently tells all the guys at school to stay away from her because they'll go for the quiet, helpless girls who they think won't stand up for themselves.
idk man this was gross. the age of the characters and what they were saying and doing was disgusting. idk how this was a romance honestly and i definitely had to look up the genre of this when i was 1/3 of the way through because i thought there was no way we would let a guy like this be seen as someone to be in a relationship with and having it work out but i guess i was completely wrong!!

This really fucked me up, highly recommend

Oh well, you know how it ends

The feels

So I started reading this book after dinner. It’s now 1.30am and my husband just woke up to me bawling my eyes out with 5 minutes of this book left to read. I’m glad to have listened to the multiple booktubers who all recommended this book on their channels

i started this book with high expectations because of tiktok. if i didn’t have any expectations, i think this could of gotten five stars. i was expecting a lot more sadness, but this book is more about acceptance. there’s a part that’s pretty taboo but once you can get over it, it’s not so bad. it’s an interesting read, however, slightly predictable.

updating my rating from two stars to one. this book had absolutely no redeeming qualities
challenging emotional reflective slow-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Character
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: No

this book would have been 5 stars easily but the way i sobbed at the end BUT WHYY did their parents need to be married
