a fun fact about me is that this book just destroyed my heart. i am in pieces. i knew to expect the ending, it was basically a given, and yet it has torn me apart in a way i can’t explain. what a beautiful, tragic story. this whole book i felt so deeply for emery and god did i want her to be happy. i wanted her to sense joy and she only had it for such a short time. this book makes me consider how blessed i am and to take advantage of the time we have with people. this life is a fleeting precious thing and we cannot take it for granted. even though i started out strongly disliking kaiden, i came to feel strongly for him too as we learned his own sad past and the demons he fought. at the end of the day, we all just want to feel love. the romantic kind, the familial kind, any kind we can find. i am truly unwell after reading this and will probably fixate on it for a long time to come. one of the best sad contemporary romances i’ve read in years.

this book BROKE my heart, the step sibling aspect really weirded me out however when you get passed that it’s beautiful and i was sobbing at 1am
One of the tropes gave me the ICK
Ok I actually enjoyed this book despite the rating, but KAIDEN AND EMERY BEING STEP SIBLINGS WEIRDED ME OUT.
It was a cute but sad story, but them having some family relation just made me ick. Emery already had to deal with her twin dying from the same disease she was sick with, so Kaiden being there for her and helping her experience some of her “firsts” was sweet, and while the ending was sad, the book overall I couldn’t get myself to love.

you know it’s a good book when it makes you cry, laugh and feel so happy and sad at the same time, be a
Beautiful tear-jerker. Took me a minute to get into because the step-sibling romance was weird for me BUT when I reached the second half I finished in one evening because I couldn’t put it down!
