Thank you, NetGalley, for the advanced release of this book for my honest review. I enjoyed this book, so much that I thought about it and couldn't wait to get back to it. This is a coming of age story in the context of chronic illness. I felt the heartache of the characters as they each carried the weight of grief and its lasting effects. This is not a light read and may be triggering for some readers.

This book was the emotional, angsty book that I needed to get out of my rut. One of the things I hate is when an author sugar coats an illness, or comes up with some amazing unrealistic cure. B Celeste did not do either of those things. Em’s mom is portrayed in negative light, but also very realistic. Everything was more than she could handle. I absolutely loved every word, and most of the characters (I couldn’t stand her mom). Beautiful book.

Grab the tissues because this is a glorious emotional roller coaster! This was a wonderful quick read that I would love to see as a movie.
