What an amazingly beautiful story! So uplifting, promising, engaging - I had a hard time putting the book down.
Narration on the audio was very well done as well. Highly recommend.

I love single parent romances and this was a perfect example of why. The kid brought light to a story with deep emotional aspects. It was perfectly balanced. I laughed. I cried. I loved it all.

I loved every second of this. It was heartbreaking and real. The love between Emery, Reese, and Oliver is so beautiful and I loved watching Oliver fall in love with the two.

I loved this book. It was the right amount of everything for me. Romance with heartbreak with anger with wholesome love.

I knew nothing going into this book and I was pleasantly surprised. Im a sucker for romance books, but this was way more than that. It dealt with grief, trauma, PPD and breaking generational curses. I thoroughly enjoyed this story unfold. I was obsessed with Reese! That little girl is truly a force. The writing was very intentional. The highlight feature was definitely put to use. I can see myself coming back to this book.

Shout out to Kindle Unlimited recs lol.

This was very well written. And very emotional. There are a lot of tough themes in here: death, depression, rape, narcissistic parents, suicidal thoughts... If you’re looking for a fluffy romance, this isn’t it. But if you can fight the darkness, you’ll have a very sweet reward.
challenging dark emotional funny hopeful inspiring lighthearted reflective relaxing sad fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Character
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: Complicated

I was honestly bored the whole time. There was no chemistry between the two main characters. The only good thing was the little girl brought some comedic relief at times.

Another AMAZING book!

*Warning: This book touches on subjects of rape, emotionally abuse and addiction*

I starting reading this book at a girls weekend vacation with the best of friends and let me tell you. I could not put the book down until I was done. One whole day gone to the beautiful words of Ms. Cherry. Holy smokes. The heartbreak, joy, love… all of it. It’s all there.

I also put together a playlist of songs from the book and man. That didn’t help. Ok, it did. I was crying with tears of joy and sadness while listening and reading The Mixtape. Also, crazy but I had listened to Godspeed over and over again that morning before I even started reading. If that isn’t magical I don’t know what is.

Read this book. It’s beautiful.

Where do i even start, from the first sentence of the book i knew i was going to love it. This is my first book by this author and it won’t be my last. i love every single chapter of this book. The way they understood and supported each other??? ugh a great read
