I came across this novel from TikTok. The way it was marketed to me, I went in expecting romance with grief playing a part in the male main character's life. However, I felt like the romance was lacking on page. Don't get me wrong this was a beautiful story but has many trigger warnings.
Oliver is the twin of Alex and 1/2 of the musical duo "Oliver and Alex." Several months ago, Alex passed away and Oliver is struggling to cope with his brother's death. Emery is a struggling single mom struggling to stay afloat for her little girl Reese.
This book was a journey for healing for both of the MCs, they just so happened to fall in love along the way. This book took me on an emotional roller coaster. I laughed. I cried, happy and sad tears. I LOVED Oliver's development throughout the book. For me, this book was about healing, grief, and found family.
I loved the full circle moments. How the story title was tied in. How Emery and Reese "stamped" each other's heart when saying I love you's because it's Emery's favorite song by Alex/Oliver. The something borrowed. The necklace. Baby I was bawling during these sweet moments.
Some things that kind of threw me off though. Emery and Sammie met Alex/Oliver at a concert met and greet but many times in the story it made it seem like they'd never met. They had such a memorable moment it's hard for me to fathom that he'd forget. That meet and greet is how Reese got her name and that wasn't even brought up in the story.
TW: Death of a family member, grief, mentions of rape, familial abuse (mental, emotional, sometimes physical), religious trauma

A must read or listen too
This one is a must listen to, or read. I have had this on my TBR list since it came out on Kindle and now I wish I would have never waited. so many feelings throughout the whole book.
