This was so so good. Two broken people finding each other. It was pretty emotional and there are so many issues covered in this book including mental health, death, grief, toxic families, and more.
"Each day, I had to work on changing the dial on the station of my mind to better-feeling thoughts."
I absolutely LOVED this audiobook!! In the beginning I was mixing it and read a few chapters but then I got so immersed in the audiobook and the narrators were perfeeeect! I cried A LOT. And I believe I would have cried if I had read those parts myself but with the narrators...boooy the tears were just flowing! This book is so lovely, filled with pain and hurt but also finding light in the darkest times, finding yourself and finding your chosen family. The little family Oliver formed with Emery and Reese aaah I loved iiiit. And also - Oliver playing his song of the morning (titled Can I kiss you) to her in person instead of sending it was PEAK ROMANCE. Idk if there is a playlist somewhere out there with all the songs but I need to find it and play it on repeat.

Nice storyline but found writing to be childish in thought and dialogue with all points made specifically for reader.
Holy moly!!! This book was unputdownable! I want to read it again for the first time. This book touched me in so many ways. There were a few parts like i felt in my soul. The depth of the characters, the topics covered, innocence of children….just wow!
Mixtape shows the importance of finding yourself, believing in yourself and being happy for you.

“And every time you feel as if they are getting to you, I’m going to remind you of the truth.”
Aaaah. I’ve been wanting to read this book because I like the author’s previous books and the cover is so pretty and I’m glad I finally did.
It’s an emotional angsty story with a slow healing process but the main couple/characters are so cute. Oliver is this shy and awkward guy who suffers with anxiety and is depressed after losing his brother, Emerson is bubbly and positive even though her life hasn’t been easy. Together they navigate through the hardships and bumps. Reese, the little girl, was sassy and sweet. Loved her moments with Oliver.

Aw i really enjoyed that book, i instantly love any book if it has the single parent or rockstar trope and this book has both so it’s perfect for me! I loved Oliver’s character so much and his backstory was so sad. There where a few moments that i wasn’t expecting in the book but it only made me enjoy it more. There were so many cute swoon-worthy parts as well. I really hope Kelly has her own book because i’d love to see her with a HEA
Mr Mith! you’ve broken my heart!
Oh where to start, emery and Oliver’s story is so good! The way two broken souls mend and find each other is amazing! The way they make their own mixtape makes me cry even more!
Mr Mith I love you ❤️

- tropes: proximity, rock star girlfriend, celebrity and fan relationship, grumpy and sunshine
- Trigger warnings: abusive parents, sexual assault, mentions of self harm, death
I loved this story so much! This was my first Kindle Unlimited read. I read through it so so fast. I couldn’t get enough of it.
I loved that Oliver was a famous musician. I always wanted to read a story where one of the main characters are a fan, and the other is the famous singer. I liked how his fame and songwriting was incorporated into the story.
Emery is the definition of sunshine. I loved her and her daughter, Reese’s relationship. I haven’t read a lot of books where the main character is a single mom, and this one set the tone! I actually liked that Reese was included a lot in the decisions that Emery made. In the few books I’ve read with the main character having a child, they tend to be neglected in the story.
Oliver was a respectful king and if Emery wasn’t with him, I sure’ll would take her place! Their romance blossomed in the most natural way, it wasn’t rushed! I loved the slow burn. It made the ending 100 times better!
Also, if you’re a big music lover, like myself, then this is the book for you! I loved how they shared playlists of music with each other!! Too too cute!
