I didn’t enjoy this one quite as much as the first. I really hoped that Wren would start to come into her own, get stronger, and start to overcome her fears in this book as she’s bonded with more of her mates. Unfortunately, that hasn’t happened and she’s still weak, scared, and sometimes just kind of gets in the way.
The spice was good and the development in the relationships with the bonded mates developed more and the spice was good! I also really enjoyed the addition of the dirty little squirrel, Nightshade. He was such fun comic relief!
There were 2 mate bonds that “snapped” into place in this book, but I feel like Kian got done a little dirty because there wasn’t even any real “action” and then a situation with Alister causes that mate bond to snap into place way too quickly afterwards.
I’m glad Fallon is gone because EW JUST EW. Also, I’m heartbroken over Callie, she was one of my favorite characters and it just isn’t fair after she finally finds her mate bond with Samson!
