Ok. So I've only read a couple of the short stories but I'm a HUGE fan if SL Jennings so I had to stop by and drop a review on her short and then I'll come back and add more to my review!

Alright so SL Jennings wrote a short story, that is a part of the Se7en Sinners Series, called Devil's Darling and let me tell you.. IT DOES NOT DISAPPOINT. I have missed Lucifer SO much and it was freaking awesome getting to read about him again. Never thought I'd say that about the devil in a Christmas story. Lol. But anyways. It is EVERYTHING. I don't want to give anything away because I'm sure there are some crazy people out there who haven't read the Se7en Sinners Series yet. GO DO IT RIGHT NOW.

We get a glimpse into Luc's life after the aftermath of Legion's reign of terror. It made me emotional. I was totally turned on cause, hello, it's Lucie. I was sad because he was so unhappy with his life. And I was happy because we got to see him interact with his brother Michael, who was SO funny by the way. It was awesome. I don't know what else to tell you other than it was great! SL Jennings is a ridiculously good author and her Se7en Series is soooo good.

I can't wait to read the rest of the short stories! More to come as I finish the book!

Simply put this was brilliant!

What an eclectic mix of a tales my known and loved authors, and a bunch of new authors to love and adore! I loved and enjoyed all of them, but I am silently cursing them for their cliffhangers and making me wait for the rest. So be aware that these are mostly series or novel starters before you go in.
Paranormal at its best and the excitement and feels these ladies create is beyond words. Well done all of you. Hot dudes with attitudes and women who take care of themselves. Five brilliant stars!

I must admit I was expecting a more substantial short-story so I am a little disappointed but it is a nice introduction to the Gabriel / Ruby couple and I really hope that we will soon have a whole book on them !!

3-Stars -- Jessica Florence – Hero Holiday Trials

This was a cute story. I would have liked to seen A.J get a full-length book of his own since he has been around since the beginning, but this short story was sweet, so I will try not to complain too much (lol).

2-Stars Amelia Hutchins – Oh, Holy Knight (Wicked Knights Series)

OK, so this story confused the hell of out me. First, I thought it was going to be a complete short story, but it was just the beginning of a new series coming in 2019. Second, I am not sure if I was supposed to like Callaghan or hate him? There were a little too many acrimonious exchanges between him and Erie for me to feel any connection between them apart from the sexual, and even that felt forced a lot of the time. Oh well, I guess I will have to wait and see what happens when the full-length book comes out...

3-Stars S.L. Jennings – Devil’s Darling (A Se7en Sinners Short)

This was another confusing as fuck story. I liked it, but I have NO clue if Darling is supposed to be Lucifers heroine or some chick he seems to be pining for? If it is the chick he is pining for, then EWWW on the whole sex scene with Darling. *lol*

2-Stars R. Scarlett – The Winter Solstice

OMG...another frigging glimpse of a new book coming. I thought this was supposed to be a collection of short stories, not just tiny samples of books to come! Sigh...

Devil's Darling is a Se7en Sinners short story by the talented SL Jennings. It's part of the Such Violent Delights: A Paranormal Romance Holiday Anthology. I love the Se7en Sinners series. SL Jennings is such a fantastic writer. Her words are poetic and perfection. The beauty in her word choices is evident in the first sentence of every one of her books. Devil's Darling is a short, interesting taste of what's to come ( I hope!). Lucifer and Michael are on a road trip when they encounter a teenage girl who doesn't seem to be afraid of them. She can see things, but not who they really are. I've never been quiet about being Team Lucifer so imagine my violent delight when I got to the last sentence of this story. Holy Hell. Bring it on!

"I've got a taste for something sweet and savory. What do you suggest?"

An amazing Christmas anthology with some of my favorite dark/paranormal authors, such as Kim Loraine, Amo Jones, Anne Malcom, SL Jennings, Amelia Hutchins and R Scarlett! I discovered a few new authors too out of this! With Kim Loraine's On A Cold Winter's Night, we get the start of Gabriel's story and I definitely must have MORE! <3 Seriously though, you'll enjoy all of these stories!

Hero Holiday Trials by Jessica Florence

When I started this anthology I just HAD to go to Jessica's story first to see who it was about. I was SHOCKED and ELATED that it turned out to be AJ's (from the Hero Society Series) story. I've been hoping he'd get his since he first appeared. He met his match in Lana. She was so feisty I loved her!!! When she and AJ got together they were EXPLOSIVE. I wish it would've been longer or had an epilogue, but I'm very pleased with their story. Plus, I'm almost positive we'll see a glimpse of them in future Hero Society books to come. *crossing fingers*

If you want to write an anthology full of unfinished stories as a way to market yourself, fine. Do it, but don't try to sell it as completed stories. It's intentionally misleading, dishonest, and shows a lack of integrity. I pre-ordered this book and was very hopeful about finding some new authors to read, but after reading the submissions by two authors (unfinished stories) whom I already read religiously, I put the damn thing down in anger. I get marketing, I do. There is a lot of competition in indie publishing and you have to work hard to get, and keep readers.

But you know what pisses me off even more than the misleading unfinished stories? Is that they are hooks for series that these authors haven't even started writing! Seriously? That's over the top annoying. And then to use the charitable donation as a way to get your stupid little hooks to us? That's just fucking low. Please don't act like this was some altruistic move to help people in need. It was marketing, pure and simple. Crappy marketing, but marketing nonetheless.
