It does have many titles, courtly names and relationship links which I struggled to keep straight as I read but this doesnt detract too much from the story.
I would and have recommended this to people that enjoy the part of the fantasy genre that is slightly less YA. It does have bdsm sex scenes although I think they are more tame than some of the reviews suggest.

This book is not for everyone - and that's okay, it's A Lot (if you're in any doubt, please read up on the content warnings, friends). I've never read a premise like it and I don't think I ever will again. Truly epic in scope, with high-stakes political intrigue and complicated geo-political struggles.
