Great as are the others! Very close and some sad losses plus worrisome future problems coming to light. I’m very intrigued by all of the action occurring outside the stage too- with the sponsors, lawsuits, and crawl ownership and political party change-ups. Plus I’m curious how far the AI will go.

Another fun instalment. More world building and sub plots make for an easy read, but it also has a pretty unsatisfying payoff for something brewing since, basically the first book. It bugged me it was teased for so long and ended up serving zero purpose, at least in this book.

The narrative voice continues to evoke dissonance too, making the first person Carl voice have very strange ticks, such as saying “upon” and other proper English corrections, rather than having Carl use an organic, blue collar cadence and verbiage. Meanwhile he often has access to information to dump on the reader when convenient. I know it’s commercial fiction, but it continues to hamper the otherwise immersive and fun ride the series continues to be.

Gods, this book was amazing and the epilogue chapter came and kicked me while I was already down. I'm both excited and terrified of what is to come in the next books but I'm here for it
