Ending felt rushed.

I didn’t like Mal in Shadow and Bone, after reading this book I’ve come to the conclusion I hate Mal with every fiber of my body.

The book was off to a great start and the ending was good, but if you were to ask me happened in between the only answer I could come up with would be Nikolai? I'm afraid he won't be back in Ruin and Rising, because there is no way he was able to carry this entire book without obtaining damage to his back.

Nonetheless, very eager to find out how this trilogy ends and finally start Six of Crows!

The main story is still centered to Alina's journey to escape from Ravka and The Darkling, after what happened in the Fold. Alina and Mal crossed the True Sea and landed in Novyi Zem. For brief of time they think they're safe, until The Darkling and his nichevo'ya ruin everything.

OH MAN! OH MAN!
This book is 380 pages long, and I'd say that I just need the first 50 pages and the last 50 pages.
The rest? You can pretend it doesn't exist..
In my honest opinion, [b:Siege and Storm|14061955|Siege and Storm (The Shadow and Bone Trilogy, #2)|Leigh Bardugo|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1362166252l/14061955._SX50_.jpg|19699752] has a promising start. With the action on the sea, and likeable characters, Nikolai Lantsov (mi amor) and the Twin, Tamar and Tolya.

The first 50 pages got me hooked with its actions, tricks and guns and also Nikolai's witty and smart-ass jokes. But, when I was on page >150, the story was dull and pointless, Alina and Mal come back to Os Alta, for what? Raising a Grisha Army to fight The Darkling with Nikolai's idea of course. And on...and on.. it was unecessary for me. I'm craving for more actions and excitements.

Characters:
• What makes [b:Siege and Storm|14061955|Siege and Storm (The Shadow and Bone Trilogy, #2)|Leigh Bardugo|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1362166252l/14061955._SX50_.jpg|19699752] enjoyable was 99.99% because of Nikolai Lantsov.
(I don't make rules, if you're not agree, argue with the wall)
• Alina Starkov, she is..... she is still the brooding and perplexed-Alina. She's still unsure what to choose between this and that. Safe Ravka or safe herself and Mal, and suddenly she looks after for the second and third amplifier, and I was like..... what the-.. Somehow, just...somehow, I'm thinking why she becomes the main character, lol :)))
• Mal, I like Mal better here. He's still a supportive best(boy)friend for Alina. Even though, if I were Mal, I'd be so pissed off with Alina... hahahahaha

BUT, I love the development of Mal and Alina's relationship here. I think, they're just meant to be. No matter what happened between Alina, The Darkling and Mal. They're just soulmate.

"I have loved you all my life, Mal," I whispered through my tears.
"There is no end to our story."

Plot:
Like I said before, I just need the first and the last 50 pages of this book. That's where the actions matter, that's where everything's so fun and exciting. The rest, I don't really know, it's just not something I was expected to. If there's no Nikolai and the rest Volkvolny members, [b:Siege and Storm|14061955|Siege and Storm (The Shadow and Bone Trilogy, #2)|Leigh Bardugo|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1362166252l/14061955._SX50_.jpg|19699752] will be as dull as [b:Shadow and Bone|10194157|Shadow and Bone (The Shadow and Bone Trilogy, #1)|Leigh Bardugo|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1339533695l/10194157._SX50_.jpg|15093325].

Overall, I need the season 2 of Shadow and Bone Netflix's series. I need to see my baby Nikolai.
Nikolai, that's the most important thing in the whole world.
medium-paced

All i can say about this is MID
I just finished reading yet i remember almost nothing of the story.  Nothing really happened untli the last 20 pages.

Alina is soooooo unlikable. Like girlll get some common sense. And almost every other character is so underdeveloped to the point that its just names that appear from time to time.

The low rating might be also because i read the first book about 4 years ago and i was quite confused for the first 50 pages.

I most likely will read the third book, because i already own it and i like to waste my time on books i know i will not like too much.

Dang, I liked this one even better than the first. I feel like this one had better character development and I loved the way Alina’s character especially progressed in this book. The plot was also a lot more engaging, and I thought Bardugo did a great job integrating political intrigue into the story. However, my one qualm is that the Darkling never really felt like a tangible threat. Bardugo doesn’t give his character enough development for that.
