I absolutely adored this series as a teenager, and it was such a delight to reread them now (for the first time in English!). I listened to the audiobook and almost broke down crying at the end - which would've been awkward because I was taking a walk through town and there were loads of people around. I noticed that the film and the book seem to have become mixed up in my memory a little bit, so some things came as a bit of a surprise to me, which was fun. I was also surprised by the pace of this story; quite a lot happens in not all that many pages which at times made it feel like things were over before they had truly begun. Nevertheless, this was a wonderful trip down memory lane for me and I can't wait to reread the other books too!
