I know this book is part of a series (one I have read before), but it ends so incompletely it's hard to give it 5 stars as a stand alone. The whole series is a 5 star for sure. The characters are filled with emotion and trauma, some were better developed than others, but you felt you knew the girls by the end.

Ironically my sister gave this book to me to read. She loved it, I admit I DNF. I just couldn't. It could not hold my interest. Maybe that's just me, but it was not my cup of tea. I found the story boring.
Oh how I loved reliving one of my favorite childhood movies from its origins in this book. Can't wait to enjoy the sequels.

I'm rereading the series because I want to read Sisterhood Everlasting. I haven't read them since Forever in Blue. I can see why I enjoyed them as a teenager, but I did not love it now. I guess I thought more happened in the book, and I wanted there to be more depth. On the other hand I remembered just about everything that was going to happen, and it was nice to have a familiar easy to read book after the last book I read (800 pages of meh writing). I'm still looking forward to reading the rest of the series again.
