I enjoyed this book, but I think that was because I was envisioning the movie the whole time... without the movie to fall back on I probably would have gotten lost or confused with all the different storylines.

I might have liked this a lot as a kid, but we'll never know. A very heterosexual book.

Perfect YA summer read! This gave me such a nostalgia teenage summer vibe, and I loved every minute of it. The author did a great job developing each character and her journey throughout the summer with the magic jeans. There wasn’t a character I didn’t feel connected to. Just loved this story so much

I experienced frustration along with happiness with this one. Perhaps that’s to be expected when following characters and their storylines through so much space and time; people and their circumstances ebb and flow. It was tough for me to enjoy Carmen’s storyline in this installment because she just didn’t seem like the Carmen we had come to know and love throughout the series thus far. I did enjoy her grand finale of remembering her worth and who is really in her corner though. I also get frustrated with Bee’s reckless decisions when it comes to romantic relationships. Again though, I was happy with how she ended in this story learning to appreciate the loved ones she has in her life. Then there’s sweet Lena who always has the push and pull with Kostos. I didn’t love her storyline, but did appreciate her willingness to admit sometimes it’s ok to not know exactly what you want and make a mess of things. Tibby reminds me of myself, trying to act emotionless and unaffected even though she cares more deeply than she knows how to admit. I guess I said all this to say I’ve been emotionally invested with this group of teenage friends since I was a teenager myself. This will forever be a fav YA series of mine, and I will likely continue to revisit in future summers ♥️

Very easy read, as enjoyable as the movie. If you need a super light and easy read over the silly season then you can't go wrong with this one.

This book was better than I remembered, I'm glad I listened to it.

Just not as good when you know what's coming.

Apart from the jarring bit in the beginning about second hand clothes being 'gross', it was good! Although I must say, ultimately I prefer the movie. Whilst I have read this before, I never read the sequels so I'm looking forward to reading those sometime.
