Great story! I love all the girls and their stories!

4 friends will all be going their separate way for the summer. They decide that one pair of pants, that magically fits all of them, will hold them together through the summer. They will each take some time to have an adventure in the pants and then mail them to the next person.

I wanted to read something after finals that wouldn't make me think. This might have been a little too far in that direction.

Not something I'd normally choose to read, but I enjoyed it. Fun story.

I started reading this book when I randomly found it in the library. I’d heard about the movie of course and had planned on watching it but somehow I never got around to it.

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is a story of four normal girls with four normal problems (I say normal only because I have spent such a long time reading fantasy!). They have to spend the summer apart for the first time and decide to pass around a pair of jeans one of them found in a thrift shop throughout the summer as a way of keeping in touch and reminding each other of their friendship, while they are apart.

While not the greatest story ever written, Sisterhood managed to make me feel...good, which I guess was the point of the story. Each of the four girls had qualities that made me see myself in them - and the lessons they learn that summer and their growth over that two month period is a moving story of love and loss, family and friendship, happiness and adventure.

I came out of this one glad to have read it, even though it’s not the kind of story I generally enjoy reading.

Like most girls, I heart this series: the letters, the friendship, the growing up, the pants. And the quotes at the beginning of each chapter. Some favorites:

If you feel like you're under control, you're just not going fast enough. -Mario Andretti

The problem is not the problem. The problem is your attitude about the problem. Got that? -Coach Brevin

You will make all kinds of mistakes: but as long as you are generous and true and also fierce you cannot hurt the world or even seriously distress her. -Winston Churchill

Wish for what you want. Work for what you need. -Carmen's grandmother

I've been wanting to read this book for a long while- ever since the movie came out. I really enjoyed the movie and have found that I enjoyed the book even more. I love how its an overarching story about four best friends but that each girl has her own story within it as well as her own unique characteristics. I found that once I started reading it I couldn't put it down and had to get started on the next one just to see what happened next with each of the girls. It's full of heart breaking, touching, funny, and suspenseful moments that I loved....One downside to having seen the movie first was that I couldn't stop comparing them.

A wonderful tail of friendship that over comes all and is connected by a pair of pants.

This book was fun. I've never seen the movie, but have always heard good things about it and it was the reason I picked up this book.

As the friends in the story go their separate ways for the summer, they unite and grow their bonds even from far away by sharing a single pair of pants. This seemingly magical pair of pants fits every body shape the friends can throw at it.

This was a cute, heartwarming and fun read for all ages. Great for your summer reading list.

Cute! A very very true book-to-movie adaptation which I love but also meant I wasn’t super surprised/ compelled by the story! As always, Justice for Carmen ✊

It's been so long since I've read this and I'm sort of blinded by the movies now from what I actually thought of this book... but it was very heart felt and I'm pretty sure it made me cry. I can relate to the strong friendships...
