It was very, very good! I felt like it passed by so fast. The story felt like it went by in only a few days. The authors style of writing was enjoyable and tickling. I cried in the movie... I bawled in the movie... I inwardly sobbed in the book. I was more frozen in the inside in the book.
Very, very good!

I've read it over and over again! Pretty neat book. I like the second one too. The four girls make me feel like I've become their friend too, letting me in on their secret lives. I'm trying to find a copy of the 3rd one, but they didnt have it at the library.
Such a fun, sweet book ... perfect for those times when you just need a feel good read that doesn’t make you think too much! These girls are an excellent reminder to focus on the big things ... the little things naturally fall into place after that.
I liked this one. A coming of age story about four friends and a pair of jeans. The movie was cute too.
I will always love this series for what it brought to my life. Rereading it as the mother of a nearly-15-year-old daughter was a trip. ;)
That's the first thing that jumped out at me. Bee is not the only motherless girl in this group. They all care for each other as the other three moms seem completely checked out of their daughters' lives. It's probably a plot device, but the absence of parents was glaring on this re-read.
I think my favorite thing is that Brashares shows us the worst versions of the girls before we even have a chance to like them. She asks us to trust that they are all good and kind and loyal...just because she says so.

This is a cute book for young girls. It's got a good positive message but doesn't read like an obnoxious after school special. Definitely YA, not exactly a book adults can enjoy as well, but great for its target audience.

I didn't expect to be as moved by this book as I was (I haven't seen the film or really heard much about it). It started out as I expected, fairly basic teen friendship romp, but the characters and the story arcs snuck up on me and before I knew it I had tears welling up. For such an easy to read novel it sure does tackle some big themes.
The first book of the series, It tells a tale of a group of friends who have never had a summer separate from one another, who are suddenly split around the globe, and a pair of pants that magicaly fits each of them and makes them look great! I would advise this book to anyone who enjoys an odd twist to Realistic Fiction!
I really enjoyed this book even though it is young adult fiction which I was pleasantly surprised by. The story is about four girls who go to different locations for the summer and they share a pair of pants between them. It tells the stories of each of them and how the pants influenced their summer. I cannot wait to get the other books in the series and see what happens next.
