This was okay. Look, this was published by Disney's company so it had to resemble the movie somewhat. I liked Jasmine's development and how she became more than just the helpless princess looking for a different life. Didn't like the hodge podge of random characters or the random magic rules. It was just okay.

A fun "what if" spin on Aladdin. Written at a teen/YA level, but still enjoyable as an adult. I'm curious about what they do with all the other stories in this series.

A very entertaining version of the Aladdin story that retains the charm of the Disney version while still managing to keep the story fresh and new. I only wish we could have seen more of the genie in this story!

While keeping into account that this book is aimed at young adults and I would gladly continue reading the rest of the series, this book seemed to be written in a more childish way compared to Once Upon a Dream. It was very easy to tell what was going to be said and how the story would end. In saying that, I did enjoy reading a different timeline for the Aladdin fairytale. It's always nice to have alternate endings on classic stories. If you're in need of an easy read, then this book is definitely something you should check out.
