I liked the twist and turns and the ending made me want to pick the next book up immediately to see where the story goes!

Here I was making a vow to myself not to rate this novel above 3 stars because I felt bitter about the lack of violence. Since Cameron is a gang-banger, I figured he should be more hard-hitting, forceful, aggressive, and cold...you know, a lot like Spider. Contrarily, he was nervous, sensitive, and quite introspective. After reading the rest of the novel, I am happy that Julie Hockley decided to characterize him this way. Everything about the former description (the Spider-like person) was not very humane. Hockley, I am guessing, wanted to emphasize Cameron's humanity since this new found humanity was brought on by the presence of the main character, Emmy. This book was bumped up from my initial rating of 3-stars to 4-stars because I actually payed attention to what was most important about the novel. Crow's Row did not receive a 5-star rating because the romance nor the plot were developed as eloquently as they should have been, but they were both still well-thought through. Decent read, and I can't wait until the next book in the sequel because I definitely plan to read it.
This is a close five, but I'm giving it a four. If you want a very fresh concept and great read, I highly recommend this. Couldn't put it down and now I'll be dying until the next one comes out! <3
Putting this on hold. It's not doing a thing for me unfortunately!
Can't really decide the rating for this book! Ranges from 2-4 stars, so i'll just give it a three for now.
The beginning was interesting enough, but as it kept progressing it became draggy. The ending was intense and unexpected, which made me increase the rating for this book.

Emily Sheppard is a freshman at Callister University in New York. She decides to enjoy her summer vacation by herself. She spends her days working at the university library and in the evenings/nights she finds comfort in running. Emily comes from a wealthy family, but she does not want anything to do with her parents or their money. That is why she chose to live in a not so great area of town and go to a small lesser known university. She wants to learn how to make it on her own. In the course of one of her many jogs through the cemetery where her brother Bill is buried, she happens to witness someone being murdered. She recognizes Cameron (having met him previously when his dog Meatball attacked her while she was jogging) before everything goes black. She wakes up in an unfamiliar place and realizes she has been taken against her will.
Cameron tells her that he is just protecting her and it is not safe for her to go back to her home yet. So Emily is forced to live with him and his gang until he decides she is free to go…if he decides she is free to go. During the course of her stay, Emily finds out that Cameron is a 26 year old crime boss. Even though his morals are in question and he seems to be hiding something, Emily finds herself falling for him. Cameron feels something for Emily as well, but he tries to fight it, fearing that it can only end in heartbreak.
Crow’s Row is one of the best books I have read this year; my only regret was that I didn’t discover it sooner. The characters were in-depth, and there is enough suspense and twists in the story that keep it interesting. I loved this book. I felt like I was on a rollercoaster ride filled with highs and lows and I didn’t want to get off. The ending took me by surprise and all I wanted to know was where is the sequel??? Unfortunately Scare Crow, the sequel to Crow’s Row is slated to come out next year, so I will have to develop a little patience.

I really enjoyed this book. The author made me experience several different emotions with the characters in this story. The only bad thing to me was sometimes the main characters seemed really immature. And Emily made me extremely frustrated because it seemed from the start she was pretty smart but then it seemed like she wasn't so smart later on. Otherwise this book was defiantly interesting and I cannot wait for the second one!
What I loved...the story and characters.
What I wish I loved more...the insta-love didn't do it for me. Emily also seemed completely fine with her kidnapping. Kinda odd to me.
I will continue to see what happens!
