it’s abundantly clear from the minute you read the blurb, or the forward, or even the first paragraph of the first chapter if you’ve somehow ignored or missed the clues up until then that this is a book about a farm. i understand that many people find it distressing to read about animals that are farmed for human purposes... but it IS a farm: don’t read the book if it’s not something you will enjoy.
that being said, i loved this book. lovely to read about considerate farming with the animals front and centre of decisions. yes, i know, they end up getting eaten; i’m not a fan of eating meat either but i’m also a realist: surely this is the best option we an all have if eating meat is always going to be an option? great book! listened to the audio and it was lovely.

An interesting and gentle read with an important message.
Finished this audiobook book today from BorrowBox. I liked the idea and believe in organic farming especially pasture fed cattle. Not the best reading or creative writing but a nice message especially towards the end.
