This was a great escapist read! It was as if "What a Girl Wants", "Princess Diaries", and "A Good Girls Guide to Murder" had a baby together!

Review: I picked up this book thinking it sounded interesting, and that I would enjoy it, but I did not expect how much I would love this YA novel! The characters were fantastic. I loved Evan as the MC, and my heart hurt for how much she went through, and how unfairly she was treated. There were characters who I started out not liking, but as the book went on (and we learned new things), they grew on me. When I found out this was the beginning of a series, I was so happy! I want more time with these characters and world. The ending was great! And I would definitely recommend checking the trigger warnings, there are a lot of sensitive topics discussed, and events that occur in this book. Overall, I loved this book so much, and would highly recommend reading it! I can't wait for book two!

I received an e-ARC from the publisher.

Really fun mystery to read. I think the kids will love to follow this Royal. They love mysteries and gossipy mean girl reads. This book has it all.
*Warning. There is an attempted rape/sexual assault. This could be triggering and scary for some of readers.

What a fun, salacious, scandalous young adult read! When Evangeline Bright, illegitimate daughter of the King of England, is forced to spend a summer at Windsor Castle much to the chagrin of the Queen and her half-sister, princess Mary (Maisie), Evan is quickly swept up into a media frenzy suddenly and mysteriously. Then, a murder occurs and Evan is accused! I really adored the mixed media articles and press releases throughout, and Evan and the cast of characters were so tantalizingly interesting.

Fun. Definitely a YA novel but enjoyable. I liked the intrigue, bit of a murder mystery.

It’s like a suspense thriller novel mixed with The Princess Diaries. It’s a pretty good YA novel that keeps your attention! There is a bit of a cliffhanger at the end so you have to read the next book.
