Thanks to NetGalley for giving me this arc in exchange for an honest review!
After reading Cast in Firelight, I fell in love with the world and characters and could not wait to read more about them. And boy did this book start off with a bang!
I devoured the first 20 chapters or so! We were given twists, turns, and action at almost every corner. However, after that the book started to drag a bit. Thankfully, the drag didn't last till the end and the story finished off strong.
The end brought tears to my eyes! It was a sweet and emotional ending that also left room for more. It wasn't a cliffhanger by any means, but I wouldn't be mad if Dana wrote another book LOL
Overall, this world is colorful and fun. The book is filled with amazing characters that you can't help but fall for. Even the classic good guy Jatin, that typically isn't my type lolol

I could not put this book down. An adventurous and action packed sequel, filled with twists and admirable characters. Highly recommended duology for a satisfying and entertaining journey. I'm already anticipating Dana Swift's next series.

The heroes are back and you will be delighted with the magic that washes over you.
I read Cast In Firelight this time last year and I fell in love with the characters. The world. The magic. And honestly, I am happy to be back once more. It is like the comfort of home, returning back to Belware.
Dana Swift really knows how to drag a reader in and encapsulate you in the world of Adraa and Jatin. A world of absolute wonders, love, tru connections, and beautiful magic of all the colors and sorts. You would be greeted by a blast of red and white powder, and stay there for as long as you need, in the comfort of Adraa and Jatin's home.
The plot was so good and intriguing. You are literally in-between an episode of war, love, magic, strong-female protagonist, and so much more. And you can imagine it all playing out in front of you.
The character development was amazing. I absolutely love Riya and Trisha. And I love Adraa and Jatin's relationship. The characters where all affected by the events that laid out twentyfold between their feet. And I love it!
I am in love once more! Thank you Dana for introducing me to this world again.

10 out of 10 would recommend this series if you're looking for a book filled with lots of magic, and action, and twists and turns. Loved the strong cast of characters and the relationships they all had with each other. If you're a fan of Throne Of Glass I think you would like this one.

I loved the first book in this series SO MUCH! And even had the opportunity to chat with Dana for our book club - Love her! The sequel was really good as well, and I loved so much about it. The writing flows wonderfully, the story is one where you just don't want to put it down. And watching Adraa learn so much about herself and her magic was amazing!
I missed the Adraa and Jatin chemistry for the majority of the book though. I wish they had been on page together more often, as that was such a big part of the reason I enjoyed the first book so much. They were just amazing together!
I also felt like the ending was left wide open. I'm not sure if this was intentional, to allow room for this to become more than a duology? Please say yes, because I feel a bit more unfulfilled than I would like at the end!
Overall, this was a solid 4 star read. The only complaints I have are for my own selfish desires, and I'm not unhappy, just wishing I had more!
