I always forget how racist Stephen King's books are. Trying to ignore that, we've got an ambiguous ending and a decently paced story. It was a bit repetitive, but I listened to it in the form it wasn't intended to be read in. It seemed like it introduced the supernatural element a bit too late, but it was still enjoyable.

The book is actually very similar to the movie, it was a decent adaptation. The only thing that stopped this from being a 5-star for me is the book as a whole felt a little choppy. Had I read it as the serial novel it likely wouldn't have had such a choppy quality.
